Lol I can't wait for the inevitable crash out and blaming the Duffers for somehow tricking them into thinking there's a secret episode
Marvel building a whole series of teasers based on “These actors you thought were gone are actually back for that fat paycheck” is just proof that nothing can stay dead or have a satisfying conclusion.
I hate to be on the crazy side on this one, not invested a 100% but I’ve seen some compelling arguments. It’s not that I didn’t like the ending, it was kind of weak at some points but I was happy with it.
I think there are two problems: creators more often than not cannot end things well, and fans care way too much about endings
Creating 3 intentionally bad episodes and a false 2 hour ending to "trick" their audience would be the dumbest thing that a TV show has ever done
Especially with how much money they said it cost to make each episode. No one’s going to just waste that much time and money purposefully.
I would never hobby shame as long as it's not harming anyone, but I really struggle to wrap my head around spending any time whatsoever theorizing about such outlandish things as this. the ending was not bad, it was pretty good, and that's okay. and don't worry, the series is absolutely not over, nothing ever is. I reckon some people take it as their "job" now to have endless commentary and theorizing on stuff, and maybe they should stop.
The internet’s reaction to LOST’s finale was bad enough in 2010. Happening now instead it would be absolutely insufferable lol
I'm glad I only watched LOST for the first time last year and never experienced the discourse behind it beyond my college roommate always telling me how amazing the show was
I watched Lost from beginning to end as it aired and was so invested in wanting everything answered that I felt super let down by the last few episodes I’ve rewatched it twice since then though and it was really satisfying just enjoying the ride, plus I appreciate the ending a lot more now
I spoiled myself on Lost so I knew what to expect going into each episode for the most part, and I loved the finale as giving the characters closure. I'm actually glad they didn't explain everything seeing how bad it was when they sometimes did: the reason for the whispers was a waste of Harold Perrineau.
More LOST fans should check out From. It's a flawed show but apparently has a lot of the writing staff involved? And Harold stars in it It's not as good as LOST, but I really like it. Definitely more of a horror show.
It would be hilarious to go back and use CGI to fix some of these smaller continuity errors just to mess with people's heads. Just add a new meta level to the whole false memories thing.
