I thought Robin explaining what was going on to Vicki was a waste of time, so I doubt I'd want to see Lucas trying to explain it to Max's mom either lol
the actress who played Max's mum is going through cancer treatment so that was higher priority than filming the show
Sure, wasn’t exactly directed at you, I’ve kinda had a beef for a while now but Stranger Things has really emphasized it. Just the people mad their theories weren’t right, or a couple they wanted didn’t happen, or being mad a minor character didn’t get a 15 minute epilogue etc etc. I blame Barb lol
My friend watched s1 when it came out and nothing since but watched the finale with their family on NYE. They went down a rabbit hole of videos on TikTok bashing the show for queer baiting by not having Mike and Will get together. I don’t really think the show ever indicated that it was an actual possibility. It’s all so weird to me.
One of the videos she sent me was the Robin/Will scene where she told him how she knew when the other person felt the same way. It then cut to the scene where Will playfully shoves Mike as if that was the show baiting the audience, completely ignoring the context of everything else. So annoying.
I went into the Byler sub out of curiosity and I saw someone melting down and saying "OMG then WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ROBIN'S SPEECH TO WILL!?!" ...you mean the speech when she directly compared Mike to Tammy???
I am pretty mad about my boy Owens but none of these other characters really needed a farewell. there's enough main characters in this show to give a sendoff in the epilogue without going into every side character too ...that being said feels like there could have been a line of dialogue somewhere about what happened with Dustin’s girlfriend. absolutely wild that those two never stared a scene in person but she got one with Argyle
Earlier I ran across a “fan theory” that suggested their graduation gowns were orange because they were meant to actually symbolize prison jumpsuits and that that obviously meant the happy ending was all a Vecna mind trick and I just
it seemed like that was meant to be a pretty temporary punishment and not like, the end of the whole relationship lol. you're telling me she didn't have a radio stashed away somewhere to contact him with? Doylist explanation says the writers just forgot about her character like they did a significant amount of s4
I just finished the finale, I see that I missed about 15 pages in this thread, but I think this is the only post I need to read
The worst part was even after the show explicitly spelled out they weren’t going that route I still saw people coming up with theories as to why it was guaranteed to happen
