There were a couple of moments where I thought “holy shit this is a cinematic movie” and that was definitely one of them.
The most enthralling moment for me was definitely the hopper vecna fake-out. It was happening faster than I could process in the best way.
Is anyone else wondering where they'd been hiding Finn Wolfhard's talent the last three seasons? He was legitimately great in this last episode in a way he hasn't touched since Season 2.
Who is getting a spinoff first? My guess is Steve/Dustin adventures or Nancy being a reporter in the 90's.
Having her back allowed for the open-ended nature of Eleven's ultimate fate, and I think that's enough to justify it for me. This is my favorite thing anyone has said about the finale.
tbf I posted that mid episode before I saw the endgame with her haha. I was mostly just expecting her to fight Henry more with El and didn’t think she’d die before the final fight
I didn't know that That thought Hopper taking the job as police chief on an island off the coast of New York was just a nod to Jaws.
We already know a spinoff is in the works. Apparently there was a hint in this episode as to what it's about. Anyone got ideas? Whatever it is, it's going to be a new cast, new location, new era, etc.
I only just heard that Harbour has been placed in a psychiatric hold somewhere after raving and harassing people on the street? I know controversial stuff has come out about him lately, but still hoping he gets the help that he needs
I really liked it a lot! The show has had such an interesting development as it's gotten bigger, trying to be both the open love letter to the 80's it began as and the modern action show many people wanted. I think the finale managed to do a good job on both of those fronts, something I wasn't confident of after the middle part of this season. I didn't love the actual final fight scene, but everything that followed had me in tears and so deep in my emotions that I'm willing to excuse some silly VFX. I think it would've been cooler if they'd used more practical effects/models throughout the later seasons, as that would've really helped to drive home the homage to a more grounded era of storytelling, but I get why they didn't.
I am not the one who made a "hey anybody got any ideas of who is getting a spinoff?" post like 6 rows below someone who made the same post lol
Kind of crazy that Netflix didn’t have a “Talking Dead”-like post show for this. I guess the Chris Hardwick Industrial Complex truly died with his cancellation.
Yeah I was surprised, seems to be getting more common with creators like Vince Gilligan and James Gunn
Lots of HBO and I think some Apple shows get official post-show podcasts now instead of the old Hardwick style post-show. Netflix doesn't really do that either though.
I actually posted about it first but everyone skipped over it. Just like you also skipped over the second sentence in the other post.
