Yeah and I’m feeling like they’re definitely going to be giving Holly even more time in the finale. I’m under the assumption, based on what we know from the stage play, that Holly will be the one to get Vecna to confront his traumatic memory because she’s “Holly the Heroic” or whatever and that will be what brings back “Henry” - or whatever’s left of him - and then he’ll die in a last minute attempt to turn on the Mind Flayer.

Also guessing that they’re telegraphing so hard that Hopper doesn’t trust Kali because they’re going to reveal she too is being manipulated by the Mind Flayer much like Vecna and therefore the Mind Flayer already knows their plan and thus she’s lying to El. So then everything has to change last minute and someone has to stay behind to finish the plan and that someone is Hopper because he wants to save Eleven because this time it’s his “daughter” who gets the chance to grow up and grow old and all that. I don’t think they’ll kill Steve off because of that stairwell scene between him and Dustin. Lucas seems too mean and unfair of a death given that he just got Max back. No way it’s Will after his big coming out scene. I think Mike’s whole speech to Eleven about their lives after it’s over is a red herring and that’s the happily ever after they’ll get after all. Nancy’s got to go off and find herself. Joyce has been through too much and she ain’t going anywhere. Robin’s safe. We love Robin. Murray will probably be a casualty of some kind. Jonathan’s a maybe, but I don’t know after that scene between him and Nancy. He might need to go off and find himself too so it could go either way. Dustin feels like the one they’re leaning on for the emotional, tug at your heartstrings death. He made that promise to Steve that “you die, I die”, but I could see a situation in which he breaks the promise and Steve’s like “you die, I die, right?” but Dustin tells him he’s got to go off and live his life and have his six kids or whatever so Steve makes sure he’s got a grave next to Eddie’s.

My guess is either El or Hopper dies; I can’t see them both surviving. It makes sense for Kali and maybe Jonathan to go too, and perhaps someone gets killed off like this

I’ve been rewatching Dragon Ball Z with my son recently because he’s at that age where he’s super into it and I am laughing at just how many times they keep showing this scene. Every time my son is like “why do they keep showing us this?!?” and I laugh and laugh.

In season 3 or 4, Dustin steals all of Ted's pancakes right in front of his face. In season 5, the whole family steals his bacon. I'd be pissed, too! Lol. Let this man eat his breakfast!

I think the main problem with this season, and why people are reacting so negatively, is it’s just not that fun. So many sentimental conversations, not many real surprises, only a few interesting action sequences. It’s hard to keep things exciting when you’re trying to wrap it all up.

I still loved that fight at the Wheelers (when I thought they died), a lot of the Camazotz stuff with Max, and Derek has been a fun add. I was most excited to see that fucking briefcase, give me the lore.

We still don’t know 11’s real dad yet right? Gotta be Vecna, right? Some Star Wars shit?

Yeah, I think a big part of the problem is that it also feels like this season is more plot focused and not character focused, other than Will's coming out.

i do think in a show that already has too many mouths to feed, introducing a new character who's plot took a ton of oxygen in the final season was an interesting choice.

  19. she's a SAHM. I guess she could WFH like Joyce in S4 but we never see that in the show.

Having just rewatched Season 1, Nancy throws off a line about her parents only marrying because her dad had money, but that could just be her being a punk kid.

  23. N:I don’t think my parents ever loved each other.

J:They must’ve married for some reason.

N: My mom was young. My dad was older, but he had a cushy job, money, came from a good family. So they bought a nice house at the end of the cul-de-sac… and started their nuclear family.

    J:Screw that.

Finishing up my rewatch. Man the Eddie master of puppets scene is peak stuff. The Henry backstory and exposition is some of the best bad guy lore in a long time from a movie or tv. I stand by season 1 being an explosive and exciting original IP intro, season 2 and 3 being really good backstory, building / great meandering in period piece fun, and 4 being the magnum opus. I just want a satisfying answer to some of the questions and some characters to get their moment. Really enjoyed the rewatch. It’s rare to have original storytelling like this that grab pop culture for as long as stranger things has.
