My overall opinion this far is that the things the show does well it continues to do well and the things it doesn’t do well has been magnified. Show is strong during intense and climactic scenes and I think the scenes with some heart and emotion still work decently. However, as the world in the show has grown larger over the five seasons, the worse the story telling and narrative has gotten. You could see the cracks in season 3 and then it went off the rails in season 4 and now we are an episode away from the end and it feel like they threw in anything that was pitched in the writers room as they were writing the season. The long and bloated episodes aren’t being used for anything to really drive the plot to the end in my opinion. I think there’s a pretty good season in here if like 40% of everything was cut.
I don't know that I've considered the episodes this season to be long and bloated. They've all mostly been an hour. 4 felt like much more of a slog to get through. Valid criticisms otherwise, though
The best thing to come out of this Nancy-Jonathan nonsense is the number of people offended that the Duffer Brothers don't think people marry their high school sweetheart.
Probably includes the trailers that come on once the lights turn off... after the 45+ minutes of ads you get while the lights are still on, of course lol
@spiffa0 its funny to me you think season 3 is the cracks showing and season 4 it all goes to hell, because for me season 3 is by far the worst and season 4 is the second best.
