Need to stay off the internet because I know Vol. 2 will immediately be spoiled tomorrow around 8:15 p.m.
This is the only corner of the internet I'm on that would spoil anything, so I'll just do dip out till I watch
There is a lot of planning and explaining, to be sure. I liked this batch overall, but found the middle episode to feel the longest.
Lots of rushed worldbuilding in these last few episodes. Layers and layers of "what if this was actually way more convoluted than we originally thought?"
Mostly really good chunk of episodes I thought Wills coming out was pretty awful. The timing of it was hilarious, it felt very after school special-y but really that actor just sucks. Thought he was pretty brutal in all of these episodes Steve and Dustin moment was really nice though, and Sadie continues to be the best actor on the show
Loved all three tonight. I did not plan on watching 3.5 hours of Stranger Things today, but they do hook you. Against all odds, I am extremely hyped for the finale. The world they’ve built in Hawkins…it just feels like they had room for so much more. It is such a bummer it took so long between seasons and releases…definitely a “what could have been” show for me.
Thank god I am not the only person thought that was really bad. I mean it was sweet and well intentioned, but damn the acting and writing of that scene was abysmal
Just finished the first episode of vol 2 and I'm getting so damn annoyed at how these characters constantly split up from each other. And Dustin is driving me nuts, too, especially. Enjoyable episode otherwise
Ep 2, also a very good episode, but frustrating seeing Holly and Max wasting so much time talking in one place and slow walking to their escape when Max has already been found by Vecna in that exact place before haha
Gaten is absolutely carrying this season man. kid is acting circles around everyone they pair him with. that scene where he broke down crying gutted me I'm still kinda passively enjoying it but this is a pretty big step down from s4 I'm thinking. that season felt so bold and cinematic for this show, this one feels really stilted and awkward in comparison
