how many kids did papa have originally? obviously at least 11 but i can't remember if there was a 12th or not seems pretty clear that is what Vecna is recreating
I mean, if that isn't the "most violent death" of the series, it certainly is the most violent death so far
Damn, season 5 reeled me back in and I started rewatching the series. I forgot how good season 1 was. Just finished episode 4
Jonathan to Nancy: oh my God, and I thought my mom was crazy!! Next episode Nancy: you should talk to her Jonathan: she's been through enough. I'll tell her when it's dead So frustrating lol. Poor Joyce sounds like she's out of her mind, dude! Why don't people talk to each other!?
People not telling each other things or being honest with each other is absolutely my entertainment watching pet peeve, even if it's how people are in real life.
I know this isn't a new complaint but it's bothering me more than ever so I'll say it - this show really does just seem to be be making new things up as it goes along, and it has a very inconsistent narrative arc that pulls things out of nowhere, and retcons things vs a slowly, well thought out plot that's simmering to it's natural conclusion. It doesn't really feel final season to me (yet). I think it's a fact (right?) that this was not meant to be a multi season show with the same characters and it shows. Also, another common complaint but they all look way too old (especially Lucas - he's changed the most to me) and the dialogue that's meant to be funny / tension relieving, this season has just not hit and the acting is uhhh, rough from all at times. Finally, it's suffering from what every fantasy / horror series has to deal with and that's balancing enemies. The kids can handle one Demogorgon with a bunch of makeshift traps and one pops out in front of a circle of military dudes and they can't kill it?? Will I still watch and am I still entertained? Sure. But it's far from 'prestige' top tier TV at this point.
Mind Flayer? I hardly know her! (I will say the prequel play's implication that Henry wasn't inherently evil but that the mindflayer made him evil is a lot less compelling than the other way around.)
I'd probably make an argument for season 1, but yeah it definitely hasn't been "prestige TV" since season 2
