I may be asking dumb questions because I’ve only watched the show once through and forget things: 1. When 11 goes in that army guy’s mind and is like walking around and shit, have we seen her do that before? Is that a thing she does? 2. Where is Holly? The Creel house in the Upsidedown? Why is it not all dark and ashy and shit?
When she gets to the secret door, does that imply that the army guy has seen behind it, or can she just walk around in memories even if the person whose head she is wasn’t actually there
1. it's kind of an extension of what she did in previous seasons, eg going through Billy's and her mother's memories. I think we're meant to assume her powers have gotten stronger because we haven't seen it cause pain before 2. Max says she's in some kind of memory world and Will gets a brief flash of her tied to a pillar with a tentacle attached to her. presumably she's physically in the ashy UD but being kept placid with the fake world but it hasn't fully been explained yet

So hold on, Max and Holly are in the same spot but Holly’s body is in the vecna tube trap and Max’s body is in a coma in a hospital in the real world? And Vecna leaves Holly to go to work or some shit? But knows Max is out there in the same world? again, maybe it gets answered in the next hour I have left or in the last few eps. But I don’t get that edit: Ok Vecna doesn’t want Max in his mind but she’s like stuck there for some reason?
Correct. There’s basically like 4 realms within this show. Real world - Where the gang is and is normal Upside Down - Buffer dimension between the real world and…. Dimension X - Another dimension where all these monsters are from where Vecna first encountered the mind flayer Brain World? - Not sure what to call this but with 11 it’s usually manifested as those very black locations, for Vecna he can basically build entire worlds within this realm from his memories and trap others mental selfs in it. If that makes sense?
Just going off s4 info (which is mostly what we know about that context), Max is kind of an anomaly. The other 3 that Vecna killed in s4 were physically broken and died. And stayed dead. When Max inadvertently sees Vecna’s inner thoughts or whatever, we saw that the others were present there, but also had dead bodies in the real world. Max was killed as they were in the finale, but El then brought her back to life a minute later or so. It was said that when Vecna took his victims, it wasnt just death, as they would become a part of him. Which I think is seen with the victims being trapped in the spires. Max died. But is now (physically) alive. Her mind is trapped in Vecna’s void world for the time being. There’s a detail I’ll leave out because I don’t recall if it’s in 5.3 or 5.4. Why Vecna seems to leave Max to roam free is not clear.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say anything that happens to be in the play will be explained and presented in the show as if it’s new information.
