I just don’t feel bad for Dustin. Yeah, the bullies need to back off, but Dustin was practically begging to get jumped when he put a snake in the guy‘s locker and spray painted hell fire club on it. What did he expect? The way he’s been treating everyone is obnoxious too. Dustin needs to get smacked back into reality and reminded everything isn’t about Eddie. Which is a shame because he was my favorite character out of the group of kids in the first 3 seasons.
Well, Eddie was introduced by being an obnoxious asshat to everybody else just minding their business in the cafeteria, so in some ways I guess Dustin is carrying on the legacy
Most unrealistic thing in the show is Dustin acting like this for 584 days and him somehow still having a single friend
It’s wild how much Stranger Things 5 and IT: Welcome to Derry are mirroring each other plot-wise. Also it’s crazy how much better the CGI is in ST compared to Derry. Watched episodes of both shows back to back yesterday and it was night and day.
That digital de-aging of Will's face on another actor's body threw me off so hard. Thought they cast a whole new guy to play young Will. Which I guess they kinda did but lol
I thought it was fine. Didn't really look much like Will, but didn't give me uncanny valley vibes anyways. I see some people saying they get Polar Express vibes from that scene and I think that's an insane take. Still don't get why they bothered with that, though, when they had a flashback moment of Will and Jonathan with totally different actors. Weird choice.
Dustin is grieving. He was closer to Eddie than anyone else in their group. And he was there when he died. Trauma changes you.
Sitting on this and the more I think on it the better it gets in my mind. I was so exhausted that night and there was so much plot to follow, but I already want to watch through again with a clearer head. A lot of stuff sticking with me.
Also, he doesn’t have that brother or sister to kind of share the trauma with like everyone else. At least to my memory
I think people would be less bothered by it if they didn’t know this was the last we’ll see of the character
You act like they won’t bring all these (surviving) characters back in 10-20 years like pretty much every other franchise does.
I loved episodes three and four so I'm not even hating, but I have to reflect on how the Steve/Robin/Dustin/Erica group in s3 was just so peak.
been a real big hater on how they're releasing this and the time it is taking between season, but once we sat down for episode 1 I was right back in. really fun start to the season and each episode was great to excellent. I have a few nitpicky things and one major complaint, but nothing that's ruining my enjoyment of the show. Totally get Dustin trying to act badass because he misses Eddie. Giving Will powers was sick, I literally said "Oh fuck yes" during that scene haha. I'm glad he's finally getting to be something more than just the pity character. Dipshit Derek is the best new character since Robin was introduced. One major complaint is who even remembers 008/Kali after all this time, especially given that subplot was the worst thing they've done in the show? I had to go back and reread who she even was and what her powers were
so glad the duffs realize what they have with robin. she's been my favorite character since season 3 and her speech to will very much moved me. after seeing her on the backburner for the love triangle last season i'm elated that she's got an elevated role this time.
So much of the acting in this is just not great. It's taking me right out. Every time Noah or MBB lead a scene I cringe
