Saw the play in London. From what I remember Henry was taken to the caves in Neveda because underground was the lab where he was mind flayed (with Brenner). Brenner also brings the family to Hawkins cause of the lab there. The only thing I can think of for the kids, is to be Henry/Vecna want to be like Brenner himself and get all the kids in the lab and do experiments and give them powers.
That’s what I was saying when the military circled the demos and were just opening fire, im like there’s no way most of them don’t get hit by friendly fire
Only two episodes in, fun so far. It’s rough watching these adult men at high school lunch but it barely happened, the real challenge is suspending disbelief for this seven year old teenager.
I feel like Sadie Sink and, surprisingly, Joe Keery, have aged the best out of the cast and don't feel overly old in this season to me. Oppositely, Maya Hawke looks super out of place for a just-graduated teenager in a handful of scenes, and Gaten Matarazzo, with that longer hair and trench coat, feels the same.
Keery legitimately looks the exact same every season it's wild. for everyone else I just assume constant exposure to world threatening stress and trauma on a regular basis aged them prematurely
I am so bad at guessing peoples ages which is nice because none of them really threw me off too much. Honestly the thing that tripped me up the most was seeing Hopper in military gear fighting soldiers. I know he was in the war or whatever but he's a fat alcoholic cop not some action hero
he straight up fought a Terminator in s3 and a bunch of soldiers too. it wasn't good then either but at least there's precedent
As someone who generally has a lot of issues with this show I thought the first 4 episodes were fun as hell. I was thoroughly entertained. My biggest complaint is Dustin. Trying to make him a hard ass or whatever does not work at all.
just finished ep 4 with the family and yeah absolute heater. feeling very vindicated as someone who up to this week was defending Will and saying they were building to something with his character the one take scene was super sick but the Super 8 flashback really got me. so glad they cast actual actors not that deaging eyesore shit
also rewatching episode 3 and they play a few notes of Running Up That Hill faintly when Holly is walking through the woods and the map says 'walk up the hill'. quality foreshadowing
Enjoyed the 4 episodes. Anything I could nitpick is nitpicky and stupid so who cares. I was entertained.
Appreciated Derek basically immediately locking in once he realized they weren't making up all the Upside Down stuff. Few things frustrate me more in stuff like this than an outsider seeing some supernatural shit going down and still not trusting the people who tried to warn them about it in the first place
I think it's believable and makes sense how Dustin is acting after everything that's happened to him and everything that happened between him and Eddie. But it is annoying.
It makes sense but I think Gaten isn’t the best actor so it’s just not coming across great to me at least. Not enough for me to not be having a #goodtime watching this season though.
