I'm in mid-season 2 on my rewatch now and it is still good. I will say upon rewatch and going from season 1 directly to season 2 streaming, there is....it's not a dip in quality, but season 2 loses some of that magic, and my gut feeling while watching is because it feels like we get way more Hopper/other adults and way less kids right away, compared to season 1. Watching Season 1 as an adult, I felt like I was watching it through the eyes of 11/12 year old kids and, by proxy, 11/12 year old me. Watching Season 2, I feel like I'm coming at it from the adult's, and mainly Hopper',s POV. Again, it's not bad! I'm a season 2 truther, I seem to like it way more than the popular opinion does, but doing this rewatch had me thinking "wait, what feels different here?" and that's what I came up with.
All that being said, I distinctly remember liking the back half of the season more than the front half, so we'll see once I get there what I'm feeling. Once Dusty gets paired up with Steve and they get with Lucas and Max, should be fun
If that’s not a podcast dedicated to The Town (2010) directed, co-written by, and starring Ben Affleck, I’m going to be unreasonably disappointed
3, 1, 4, 2 when it comes to ranking of seasons. I was at target yesterday and they have a bunch of exclusive merch/food for the upcoming season. Lots of retro packaged foods like Doritos, Frosted Flakes, etc
I'm just curious, but does anyone think the show lost a lot of hype being that its over three years since the last season concluded. I never hear people talk about this show anymore or see any excitement for this final season. I'm sure this will change come next month, but I do feel like Netflix lost a lot of steam on the hype train.
It lost a lot of hype due to Seasons 2 3 and 4 not being as good and taking an entire presidential administration break in between lol
right lol its been a bad show more than its been a good one, and that coupled with multiple years between seasons is more than enough reason for people to cool the fuck out on it. i am absolutely sure that this will be all people are talking about while its happening over the next few months, but once it finally ends i expect people will completely forget it ever even happened lol
Ill definitely watch since I’ve invested time in it over the last 30 years but I think I’m just slightly interested in it because of the extended time it took to produce the new season lol
I’ve seen much more discussions online and merch in stores for S5 than I did leading up to S4. The hype train is full speed at this point
Hype train for people who enjoy stranger things, hate train for people that know they’ll be seeing and hearing stranger things for the next 2 months
Pretty sure each season broke records for its view count when it released. I don’t think the hype has ever died for when a new season. It’s THE Netflix show
