I love them all I can't even rank them anymore but also my brain is mush at the moment. I"m guessing "The vanishing of" is gonna be Max, she's gonna vanish into the upside down or something like that and get fixed.
When you put it like that, it's weird that we hold TV to a different standard than film where we expect a season every year.
I know 2 always gets all the hate but I still love it. YEs it was missing the El/group dynamic, BUT getting her and Hop was good, Steve and Dustin bonding and becoming the monster fighters was awesome, and the payoff in the last two episodes of them reuniting and then getting the Snow Ball was so good and cute
I'm not gonna lie, it's wild to me that people still have excitement around this show and avidly discuss it. I didn't hate any of it but I'm just worn out by its existence at this point - all the cast drama, time between seasons, etc. I guess I'll watch the last season but just don't give a shit anymore.
There was cast drama? I can see why people might not be excited or care anymore due the time between though. I still am looking forward to it but nowhere near what it probably would have been had it not taken so long. I’ve enjoyed every season though and they have good enough faith with me that i expect I will enjoy this as well. How much the “kids” have aged though will definitely be on my mind during watching
Yeah the double whammy of Covid holding up the last season's production and then this one taking just as long definitely takes some of the steam out of it. And yeah ages all the kids so much.
Idk how anyone couldn't be looking forward to the final season if they've seen all of the previous ones. It would be like reading a book 4/5 the way through and then saying "nah" and throwing it away lol
When I say cast drama it’s really all the shit Noah and Brett have come out and said about Israel, Noah using the n-word awhile back, Millie Bobbie Brown criticizing older films and complaining about their runtimes, Winona pushing back… it’s all somewhat exhausting
Yep and I have no real interest anymore cus when the show started it was a cool sci fi show with good child actors on Netflix when Netflix wasn’t a AI loving-churn out slop service.
yup. also this is the only non-reality show Netflix gives a shit about. they're happy to cancel 99.99% of everything else as long as they get to keep throwing money at this and only this. makes me resentful.
Outer Banks is getting a 5th and final season as well. Netflix just cares about the numbers. If it's something like Stranger things, wednesday, outer banks, squid game, etc then yeah Netflix will prioritize it. I'm not defending Netflix btw, I don't care for 99% of their content, but if shows drop in numbers then it makes sense for them to not treat them like Stranger Things.
I don’t really think about or care for this show that much in between seasons but I’m absolutely hooked when it does drop
I'm looking forward to watching the last season and then probably never thinking about the show ever again lol
I think it's very rewatchable so I'll def return to it in the future. My son is 5 now but I think somewhere around 8-9 years old we're gonna sit down and watch this with him. And I get the itch to rewatch it every year around spooky season but haven't done so the last few years because we've been busy
