Finally got to watch this, thought it ruled. Kind of reminds me of S2 finales of Amphibia and Owl House, although those two mirror each other much more than this does.
Erica rules. Robin’s still a top 5 character even though she felt like a soft-rebooted version of her s3 self. I don’t mind Argyle; he’s one-note but the actor’s charisma makes up for it. Yuri sucks. Agreeing on Gaten Matarazzo being the best actor in this show. It’ll be interesting to see the roles he takes when he ages out of playing a teenager.
if Erica is a top 5 character that is not saying anything positive for the show lol she's barely featured and has had a few good one liners. i know this is hyperbole.FM but come on now.
Erica is great wtf I didn't find Robin to be too much less than her season 3 character but that seems to be a popular opinion so idk
I think everyone is good to great other than Mike, Johnathan, and probably eleven. I don't know if Finn is a good actor or not but his character sucks overall. Johnathan was fine until this season. I won't hold anything against Millie because she was fine in other things I've seen her in, but she isn't given much opportunity to have any range in this.
Erica was fine early on in the series when she was basically comic relief and only had sassy one liners to antagonize the D&D nerds. I found her absolutely exhausting in season 3 when she was part of that infiltration crew with Dustin.
Erica is just annoying and she doesn't contribute much besides being small so she can help by crawling into vents and hiding, and they attempt to use her to provide 'comic' relief with her attitude and snappy comebacks. (Which sure, humor is subjective but she's just grating to me). They could do so much more with a little sister character, like she could actually help or hinder in a meaningful way. I thought the whole subplot with Suzie was amusing and a good snapshot of a big religious 80's family, and it did add to the plot with explaining how the whole Cali gang found project Nina. The only odd thing is that Dustin never mentions her or when his life is in danger thinks to reach out to her, so it's like she's used when convenient and completely forgotten about when not.
While I do think Erica is a decent and funny character when she is on screen, this was mainly my issue with her, Argyle, and even Robin. These are characters that are serving 0 purpose in the show other than being comic relief in a show that is already funny enough on its own. I really hope they give Robin something more to do next season.

Honestly a little surprised to come in here and see the negative reaction, particularly towards Max's reversal. I didn't see it as a fake out at all
I think most of the people who were negative in here are usually negative about most things I like so I don't know why I expected any different
For whatever reason, I find TV show threads on this site to be much more negative overall than music threads or movie threads. I've unsubscribed from a fair amount of TV threads for shows I watch
I just don't care about Will or Mike anymore. The van "heart" scene felt like too little too late for me
