Finished it today and thought it was mostly fantastic, though I actually liked the first half of the season better than the second half. I had no complaints with any of the actors; all the children were great, Winona did a fantastic job imo, Hopper was great, and I really liked the girl who played Nancy. She looks like a mix of Emmy Rossum and Noel Wells I kind of wish they didn't leave so many questions unanswered though, I was really hoping basically everything would be wrapped up with maybe one or two open threads for next season, though it's really not a big deal
Not sure if it was discussed in here before but how did people feel about the monster's design? I thought it was creepy as hell at first but once they revealed more, it just kind of looked like a big walking venus fly trap.
Meh, that's kind of the same as every monster in TV / movies. It's the most scary when you half see it, isn't completely visible. The scariest it ever looked was one of the first times you see it, and it was hunched over in the black upside down dimension
Totally get that. I just meant that I thought the actual design was kind of lame once we finally saw it.
Monster design was very cool imo. Like a cross between the wendigo from Hannibal and the tooth fairy from Cabin In The Woods.
Finished this last night and loved it. Don't think there was a weak link at all. rip barb. too pure for this world.
I loled too hard at that. Now I feel shame. Part of me knows that my disdain for Steve and Nancy comes from that. Its stupid to think that tho. It's not like it's either one's fault and Nancy literally hunts for vengeance.
i do like how it was kind of a subversion of the "virgin lives" trope. steve and nancy getting it on in a horror film would make one of them the next victim
Nancy was one of the best characters, so much more interesting than Mike, who basically just functioned as El's love interest 90% of the time.
