I'm driving to Milwaukee for a Halsey concert this weekend, so I won't be able to watch the finale with the family until Sunday or Monday. Wish me luck avoiding spoilers.
Owens, Enzo and Eddie are my best guesses for characters that could bite it and not like, upend the entire show. maaaybe Murray or Brenner (again lol)
I’m expecting Steve to die. I don’t want it to happen, but as TBS say, I got a bad feeling about this
Enzo & Eddie are almost definitely going to die. Giving us lovable but flawed characters who are liked by the main cast, but not really vital to the show's progression are such transparent plays to make the audience sad when they die, but not heartbroken enough to stop liking the show. Jason won't die, but he might get captured by Vecna and the kids will have to save him. It'd be a tasteless to kill a underage character and frame it as a good thing, and I don't think ST would be able to sell the tragedy of Jason's death well enough to keep the audience from celebrating it. I think if any lead will die, it will be Nancy because, if she sacrifices herself for Hawkins, it will resolve her guilt for not saving Barb. Also she's the character with the least memable lovability, so the audience will get over it sooner than Steve or Robin or Murray. Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, & Max have plot armor and can't die, full-stop. I still think Hopper and the young adults are safe too, but I'm in the minority there.
I would be willing to bet a lot of money that Steve will not be dying. He's too much of a fan favorite.
Also, what the heck happened to Vicky? When we saw her in episode one, and I thought she'd be in some way relevant to Robin's arc this season, and then she just completely disappeared. Screw the demagorgons and vecna, I want to see some goddamn gay shit!
I'm pretty sure she'll be back, she was mainly there to show us Robin's emotional state in episode one. if she doesn't discover her confidence to ask Vicky out as a result of all the crazy shit she's seen this season, I'll be shocked
Some thoughts: Eddie realizing that he could be a hero was a nice touch, but then the Duffers blatantly ripped off GoT with that shot of him waiting for the charging bats. He was a potentially great character and that death wasn't earned. He wasn't around long enough for them to act like he mattered so much. The Hopper vs. demogorgon slow-mo sword fight was fun. So was Nancy blasting Vecna with the shotgun. What is the point of Argyle? Mike still sucks. Jason being one of the main villains then getting tossed aside (and then ripped in half by the upside down quake) just didn't get it done for me.
