I don't think Eleven is anything nonhuman, she just has abilities from her mother being in experiments (or from Brenner also having abilities to a lesser extent).
I don't think she's calling him papa in a literal sense. They probably trained her to call him that as a way to build trust.
Still, seemed weird since the way she was saying it sounded like someone who didn't speak English as a first language. "Papa" is not a typical north American title(?), or whatever it's called.
Is it though? Her inflection of the word sounded similar to the way Spain uses it. She is from Spain, so that might be why. I'm probably looking too much into it, whatever.
maybe it's just a Midwest thing, but yeah. I blame Little House on the Prairie. it was pretty heavily implied that she is 11's mom.
I'd hope she was, but then again how are they going to explain that LSD from a pregnant woman gave her daughter powers. Or if it wasn't the LSD, how did the powers come about in the first place? Just seems like a lot of things to cover.
I don't think we were ever supposed to believe the moms drug use gave El powers... I mean I could be wrong.
Yeah I agree. I just kind of thought it was implied that that was a lie based on how much the organization was already trying to cover up. it seemed so obviously far fetched that I figured it was a lie. I would imagine we will learn more about El's origin in the next season?
Should we keep posting with spoilers or are we safe to assume people arnt coming into this thread without having already seen the whole thing?
Not drugs she was voluntarily taking, the experiments involved LSD supposedly so she was being given drugs for experimental purposes.
I'm sure they'll do it but some flashbacks on how el and Brenner formed their relationship would be great. Which also makes me think we haven't seen the last of him.
