I think more content made by people that make content I like is a good thing, but that’s just crazy me enjoying people making cool shit getting paid to keep making cool shit they wanna make.
Yeah there's a group of people who feel that way. All the Spidermans, marvel, star wars, Harry potter, lord of the rings movies...the more the merrier for a large sector of peoole. I seem to think eventually those IPs get played out and can eventually tarnish the originals reputation. Im also very not into all of those things I listed above. If the Duffers wanna make a totally new thing. Obviously I'm for that.
You know Millie Bobby Brown is going to have to shave her head and start practicing baby talk for the reboot in twenty years. It’s a bummer but that’s life under capitalism, when you do one thing that people like you have to do it in some form until you die, and it keeps going without you longer than it should. It’s still nice to enjoy something fun as it’s happening.
I won't. I don't think I'm the first person to ever rant about their hatred for IP only content. Its nice once in a while to let a movie/tv show stand on its own
Were talking about my comment about speculating about the future and foreseeing all of the spin offs and what not that will most likely come
Your argument is circular. You're saying you want more people to make new IP, about the most popular new IP in years, but don't want that new IP to get actually popular because then there will be too much of it.
Glad this is ending after 1 more season. If the expanded universe episode(s) are any indication of the STUniverse, I'm good. Really emjoying Season 4 tho, hope they can tie all the loose ends in 4.5 hrs, should be doable. And also get us out of Russia / Nevada and get everybody back in Hawkins for some hijinks.
If people like what the Duffer Brothers are currently making in the ST universe, and what they've made in the past in the ST universe, but have already decided they're not going to watch whatever comes next from them if it stays in the ST universe, because you've decided it will be uncool... wyd?
the most baffling take on the past few pages is people not liking Robin this season. truly off the rails folks
Yeah I didn’t mind Robyn at all. She basically is a high school nerd whose suddenly hanging out with the “cool kids” and seems a little awkward, but is also confident and smart and overly talkative when she’s nervous so…seems about right
I mean you can see this coming in s3 anyway. she's initially very reserved and cool but the more comfortable she gets around Steve, the more guard she lets down and you can see her nervous/talkative energy start to come out more and more. good character writing to have that thread end up where it does in s4, where she's comfortable enough with herself to let all that out I think it's actually a nice understated comment on how queer people have to try really fucking hard to act like something they're not. it resonated a fair bit with me obviously lol
Robin is one of my highlights of this season, and love getting to see her relationships extend past Steve and Dustin from S3 into the rest of the main group.
Yea I don't mind Robin but I can see what Sean was saying about her being strictly comedic relief and it maybe being a little overkill. I think her character is necessary personally. Hawke has a good delivery. And her chemistry with Steve is off the charts Her interactions with Nancy was great too. They're both so different so it was a funny combo
I like all of the main characters, sans Jonathan. I don’t like what they did with Will and Mike this season, though. Weird choice to completely remove them from everyone else
I think Jonathan is the best when he's playing the role of Will's supportive big brother. When he's playing the generic loner/slacker he's completely forgettable.
idk about strictly comic relief either lol. she figures out the Vecna weakness basically single handedly. they're consistent with her character being great at puzzle solving/codebreaking so far
Yeah, plus her monologue that gets them access to Victor Creel is probably the best monologue of the season, behind Max's from later in that same episode
