Yea. During Christmas scene at the end, I just found myself saying "huh, ok" when Nancy and Steve were sitting there together. They're just kids so who gives a shit, but it was still surprising. I might have missed this, but was Jonathan in high school?
Even if the guys younger brother is missing and presumed dead? People do messed up things when they grieve. He could've been the bigger man. That's why I don't buy him changing face, I could never forgive someone for saying that kind of stuff.
You know I wondered that the whole time. One time he just showed up and posted pictures of will then left. Then he's using the dark room. And he knows Nancy presumably through school? I say yes but he's taking a leave absence cause of the will situation.
He was using the dark room when that red headed chick showed up, so I'm thinking he was still a student. It didn't help that the actor looked mid 20's.
I was partial to Hopper since went against all of the typical horror tropes out there. Never once did he question the supernatural aspects of anything.
Really enjoyed this. The kids were all awesome. Agree with some on Ryder feeling weak but I either grew used to it or she just got better about halfway through. Assuming there is another season, it'll be interesting to see where it goes.
Not much to say about the others. Wasn't particularly impressed with el or Nancy but I had no real expectations. The boys kind of stole the show for me.
I worded that horribly. Great character and the actress did a great job. She's up there right after the boys...just liked the boysa lot more. Dunno.
El is by far the highlight of the show for me, and delivered what i thought was the best acting. She barely had any lines, yet her facial expressions and body language always displayed so much emotion and what she was feeling. Being able to communicate like that in acting takes insane talent. She didnt need to speak because her expression / reaction often said more than what others would say with their words. I just loved her character too. the mystery around her, and her child like innocence combined with her powers was awesome. Ugh, she is just the best.
It's because she's from Europe, those people are far better actors than those of us from North America.
A couple of questions: What exactly is Eleven? She refers to Brenner as "papa", but we've given hints that she was birthed to a woman involved int the MKULTRA experiments. I don't know if it's important, but still curious either way. I was expecting to hear Brenner say "daughter" at least once when he was talking to Hopper in the interrogation room.
