Yea the Lucas stuff is not the greatest look for him. If you go back you’ll see we discussed it a bit yesterday I think. Ultimately he’s just a kid tired of being ostracized and bullied and wants to be a cool kid. Which, as an adult, you can see isn’t really a good thing as ultimately those cool kids do not matter. But he’s a kid. Also, it just occurred to me, while it hasn’t been addressed this season up to the point you’re at (won’t say if it does or not), but beyond being a nerd like his friends, he’s also black. We saw how Billy singled him out because of that in season 2. So that could be another aspect that makes him desperately wanting to be cool a little more understandable. Or maybe I’m just talking crazy.

Just started episode 1 again. Will's presentation was over Alan Turing. I'm convinced these theories of him being in love with Mike are all but confirmed.

 

I mean he's 100% gay at this point I think, the Mike crush/love part is still questionable but they're definitely hinting at it. That painting def seems to be...something.

I assumed they were just gonna go with him being socially awkward, but the recoiling in disgust from the girl trying to play footsies with him in class seemed to confirm it.

 

Only on episode S4E3 right now but my god this season looks and sounds expensive.

I dunno. They had no problem with Robin coming out to Steve. With Will it’s like they are trying to play it both ways by not fully confirming it. The get the “oh, he’s gay” attention to the character but it can be downplayed as him not being gay.

im fairly certain he is gay, but I think they should confirm it at this point in the show. But I do get that it was very different back in the 80’s. So the characters reluctance to be outright is totally understandable and realistic. And Robin has only told Steve it seems. So it’s not like she’s telling everyone and she’s too afraid to ask a girl on a date.

I guess it’s complicated. My guess is the painting will shed some actual light on the matter.

Only 3 episodes in but I too am digging the Elm Street vibes. And I think the show looks really good, especially compared to how shockingly cheap a lot of Star Wars/Marvel shows look on D+

I'm very interested in seeing how they have the kids react to Will being gay for specifically that reason. I'd be surprised if any of them had an issue with it, but it'd also be pretty unrealistic to not have at least ONE character have some kind of reaction to it

 

Max should listen to Cloudbusting or the title track, mix it up a bit. The July eps should be fully soundtracked by The Dreaming

Yea, that would be interesting to see go down. Especially if he loves Mike in that way, or at least has a crush. Makes his third wheel stuff early on in Cali all the more brutal for him.
