I know. I'm saying I spent the entire season thinking Englund also voiced Vecna, but apparently it's the same guy who played 001
This was pretty good. Never felt like it was too long really. Really didn't care for Joyce/Murray's plot though. And I'd take a whole other episode about New York before I spent 5 more minutes in Suzie's house. Good lord that was dumb. Still very good. 1 and 3 are still easily the best.
I appreciate the horror movie vibe they went with, but it was never one bit scary to me, I wish it was. Season one was creepy as fuck.
I'm a very visual person, and so whenever Vecna was doing his thing on the victims and twisting their faces and limbs I had to look away, as it was just too freaky/gross for me, haha
It’s all good. It just threw me for a second. I was like, “am I completely blanking on a sequence in New York somehow?”
Late on the rankings, but at this moment for me, it's S1 > S4 > S2 > S3. If Season Four really sticks the landing, and I mean REALLY sticks it, it could tie for my favorite. It's not going to beat the smaller-scale perfection of Season One... there are already way more issues, but what's great about it is so great they just need to hit a home run with the last two episodes (and they have a great track record for that). Season Two holds a soft spot for me because Noah's performance in it remains my favorite in the series and is part of what made it so much darker and heavier than the other seasons for me up until S4. I really hope they start giving Noah more to do as Will... It's my biggest gripe with last season and now this season. I think he's the best actor of the kids. Season Three was better on rewatch, but goodness, it's just too fun. Now that this season genuinely raises the stakes, I'm going to appreciate that season for what it was, but I had very little emotional investment even though the story was well told.
Finished episode 7, really enjoyed this half of the season. I thought it was a solid mix of gnarly shit and whacky shit, overall it's pretty fun. Would be pretty happy if they just ditch Eleven and the psychic kid plotline entirely. Every time it cut back to that lab was a fucking slog. Didn't mind the Hopper/Joyce/Russia plotline, but still not as good as the other teens just solving mysteries and shit. Hawkins > California > Russia >>>>>>>>>>> Lab
Yea… El and One are defiantly endgame for this season. But I could see them killing El off. Sacrificing herself for the sake of the party. but I’m not sure how they’d handle the mind flayer next season.
Watched ep 2 and 3 last night. Really intrigued with how this Vecna thing works. He has some sort of Upside Down Cerebro, seems to focus on kids with some sort of trauma but not sure about that other basketball player whose mind he hopped in. Not a big fan of Lucas sticking with the basketball players but I’m sure it’ll lead to some interesting things in future episodes. ahhh max is seeing the clock. Not good! Really doubt they kill her off but, the main task HAS been rather plot armored…don’t know if they have the guts to go through with it. poor el and will. And man is Mike terrible at handling, well, any social interaction. I’m trying to figure out if he knows Will…well, likes him, and that’s why he’s so awkward around him/avoided the hug/etc. not sure where they’re gonna take El to get her powers back and shit. And if Mike/will/Jonathan will join her or go somewhere else
Yeah this is why streaming/binging blows and shit should be released weekly one at a time, as God intended.
Right after episode 4 ended I went looking for the score and was so disappointed it hadn't dropped yet
Screw that. I have the luxury of being on my second viewing already and am very happy I have the freedom to watch it as fast or slow as I want. All of it Friday. Then 1,2 on Saturday. 3, 4, 5 yesterday. And just started 7 today. I’ve been pausing and taking notes as I go through this second time. I start a new job on Wednesday and this free time will be gone, maybe forever. So being able to watch the crap out of a show I love this last weekend has been pure joy, despite being all about trauma and death.
