It's better cause your imagination will always beat reality. That way, every piece of entertainment you ingest is a masterpiece.
Sounds like they're cutting up a typically 12-13ep runtime into 9. I have faith that they know what they're doing, but just anecdotally I vaguely remember TWD having extended episodes for no apparent reason
Lol I do not for the life of me get the complaints about the runtime. I just looked it up, Season 1 of the West Wing was 924 minutes and it did okay. People will watch this like freaking crazy. Most will binge. Some will have to work it out on their schedule. But 771 minutes for a TV season isn’t that crazy to me.
Also, and I know this isn't ideal, but it's totally possible to watch part of an episode and then finish it the next day.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that is is not excited by long run times of things haha. It applies to everything, I'm more likely to put off starting a video game if i know it's like 60 hours long
i can't even find movies anymore that are 1.5hr, now tv episodes are running longer than that. it's going to take me forever to finish this season
On the opposite end, this review argues some of the episodes could be longer. It's spoiler free: https://www.ign.com/articles/stranger-things-season-4-part-1-review
Damn with that much runtime I can draw this out for a few weeks on top of all the other content coming out between this week and next (The boys, Obi Wan). And my only major concern with this season is pacing, not runtime. If they can hold my attention and keep me fully engaged for over 12.5 hrs then more power to them but we'll have to see when it actually comes out. I'll probably take wayyyyy longer than usual to finish this anyways.
On top of this and Kenobi, I’ll also be seeing the new Top Gun Thursday evening. So much good content for that 24 hour block or so.
Other than not knowing who certain side characters are, probably not. It should be pretty standalone. That said, it’s one of the best shows on television so I’d recommend watching the show regardless.
