I've started watching again from season 1 and am currently up to s03e07, and while I used to think season 2 was worse than 1 and 3 I don't feel that any longer. 2 is so damn good I honestly don't know why it took 3 viewings for it to click for me. Can't definitively say which season I like the most now.
Yeah, Season 2 is great. I feel like I’ve seen a lot of people talk about S2 like it was a sophomore slump, which is total news for me. It was really well received when it came out and it’s only gotten better with time IMO.
Took me a while to figure out which episode that was, so forgettable Best part of season 2 was the introduction of max and Billy. They've both become such great parts of the plot and allowed other characters to grow. Steve and Dustin as we know them couldn't exist without those two.
5 episodes into the 3rd season. Hopper is terrible so far. He's just being a dick and yelling the entire time.
They really fucked Hoppers character development in S3 just to kill him off. If he doesn't get a redemption arc in S4 I'll be angry
Just started this season last week. Taking it slow, but at episode three and damn Will's breakdown was really sad to watch.
Maybe the saddest moment of the show for me. I relate too much and Noah is low key the best actor on the show.
Finally started s3 last night. Coincidentally I’m in Atlanta for work and staying directly opposite the mall they used for Starcourt. Know they’ve taken all the set away but might pop in and take a look at a dead mall
During one of the panels at Dragon Con Cary referred to the mall as abandoned and all of the locals were absolutely cracking up.
He was entertaining, sure, but he was even more of an ass than any prior season and didn't really let up until the very end. It kind of cheapened the emotional impact of how the season ended. Wasn't a fan of how much of a jerk he was to Joyce
I live right by there and go to a coffee shop across from the mall almost every day. It’s technically still operating, but it’s super eerie inside. Our lives used to revolve around it when I was a kid and now it’s a dump. They even found a body in the food court a couple years ago: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aj...all-long-fall/8DQJ5GxnReE79QyQMt1DRJ/amp.html Really bummed they don’t seem to be revitalizing it and capitalizing on the Stranger Things hype.
Idk how you can defend Hopper in this. Again, I’m only through episode 5, but he’s been such a dick to Joyce so far.
I thought Hopper and Joyce were the weak spots of this season. They felt oddly secondary this time around for the top billed stars of the show.
It was so unnecessarily harsh, even more on a rewatch. And on the subject of revitalizing the mall, Cary also said that Netflix had talked about rebranding it as Starcourt for real but dropped it. I can’t remember if that’s been discussed elsewhere but he seemed really into the idea and kept bringing it up, which was pretty funny.
Okay, well that means Wesley from The Princess Bride wanted to revitalize my childhood mall and that’s enough for me.
