its hard for me describe, but Strange Ranger/Siou>< Falls have connected me with so much these past two years. Really one of my favourite bands of recent years

Copy/Paste is such a fucking incredible piece of music

 

man the opening of house show sounds a fuck ton like pedro the lions options

 

It's part of what makes the start so strong imo

Ah. I'll still check it out, but based on that description, it's most likely not my kinda thing. Haven't been able to get into Alex G and I'm not too big on MM. I'll give it a chance though, based on all the comments I've seen about it today from all of you.

On first listen, it's super-subdued compared to Rot Forever, huh?

 

it definitely is, but i think that's just a result of the shorter length. the jams are where the less subdued parts came from on the majority of Rot Forever and they're not really present here. i think the energetic parts that do exist here are all the more strong for their isolation though, and the general mood of the record works as a great foil to those parts imo. how did you like it?

 

Second listen through headphones was much better than the first. I feel like there are lot of little details in these songs to unpack so I’m looking forward to diving into that over time. Definitely some parts that remind me strongly of Moon & Antarctica era Modest Mouse which is cool. Only downside is this is a really atmospheric fall/winter kinda record and we’re heading into summer down here. Gotta get my listens in before it gets too hot and sunny haha. Lousy Southern Hemisphere.
