Had a SOTY-fueled run today. In the Wake will put some pep in your step.

 

The Black Swan turned 10 today. Still my favorite SOTY record.

 

In about 7 days, it has been my number one favorite album for 10 years.

 

I know they are touring Wolves right now and their sets have to be a lot of Wolves and also Page Ave (because of fandom) but they should throw in a few BS tracks like Welcome to Our New War or Angel in the Swamp for the 10 year.

 

or the title track actually. That sound rules and was able to see it twice live, it sounds really good live.

If the swiped out Razorblades, Dive Right In and In the Shadows for those BS tracks, that'd rule.

True, even a set with my least favorite SOTY tracks would still be great.

 

I don’t think I’ll ever get to see them at this point unless I take a trip to STL.

If I would have known it would be Phil's last show and the setlist/show production was going to be that killer, I'd have made more of a point to go and forced you guys to come too.

 

I'll start saving $5.000 so I can travel from Norway to the US and crash at your place @Davjs just to see SOTY. I'm kidding, obviously. I'll probably never get to see them, haha.

 

If you come all that way, of course you can have a free place to stay.

 

Tomorrow is the 10 yr Anniversary of The Black Swan!

I love The Black Swan so much to this day. I think it has Dan and Adam’s best lyrics and the best overall musicianship from the whole band. It also served as my introduction to Carl Sagan so it gets points for that alone.

 

It definitely is the most "complete" SOTY album to me. About Phil's departure: they might as well call themselves Big Blue Monkey again

 

Speaking of Big Blue Monkey, if anyone here can hook me up with the Story of the Year EP, that would be dope.

 

I have the CD, but I'll never let that go. I can however hook you up with the FLACs if you want ?

Edit: Wow, I just saw 3 copies for sale on Amazon for like $30. And I payed like $200 for a copy back in 2015, haha. Could these be counterfeits? I don't know, but if any of you want the CD now's your chance!

 

I got my signed Wolves vinyl yesterday and I can't wait to spin it!!!

Now if I could get The Black Swan, In the Wake of Determination and The Constant on vinyl, my life would be complete...

 

I really hope we get those someday. I don’t know how likely it is, especially with Wake since it was on Maverick.

 

I used to watch this all the time. This is what got Feldy to sign them/produce their album. It’s like the precursor to Bassassins haha.
