The solo on Five Against the World transports me to another era. Cannonball has a pretty incredible solo as well.
Just bought a new copy of In the Wake so I could read the liner notes again. I miss when bands did that.
I never get tired of watching that doc. I’m glad they put up a bunch of studio videos of The Black Swan and Wolves. The Constant is the only album they never released any studio updates for.
You're right Adam and Ryan seemed to always be filming stuff, I wonder if there is footage we just never saw. It'd be a good question to ask next time they do an AMA or something.
I’m guessing they got burned out around that time. It seemed like that album got the least amount of promotion out of all.
Ah really? Musically it sounds different from a lot of their other stuff but that lead guitar is pretty sweet. Dan's vocals in it are pretty great too, catchy chorus. They have such a strong discography that I would rank it pretty low though compared to the rest.
Remember a Time is my least favorite from the album. Maybe it's just me, but I actually think that song would make a good closer. Whenever I listen to the whole record it feels like it doesn't belong between Dream and Holding On.
I loved The Black Swan bonus tracks so much that I was pretty disappointed with the two bonus tracks for the Constant.
I was only disappointed at the amount of B-Sides since the Black Swan had so many, but Unsung Friend and Tonight We Fall are such strong tracks. I'd rank them higher than Save One and Never Let It Go. Virus, Truth and Radio FTW though!
