I know. I was just ragging @Davjs because he hates Razorblades and tries to say it’s so bad even the band doesn’t play it
I like it too. It’s one of the three songs that got me on board with this band (UTDID and SidewAlks being the other two)
I used to listen to the Big Blue Monkey version all the time. “Razorblades and Cupcakes.” But yeah I love the Page Ave version too and I’m glad they’re playing it live.
Agreed! For real, I didn't think it would be a song they would try live. Super jelly. I never said hate! Just their weakest song on PA no doubt. Tryin to slander my name on here... lol. When I saw them do their first 10 year show of PA here in STL (the only one they played the album i order) Dan said they never played the song and didn't care for it too much after playing it in Big Blue Monkey for so long. I think the reaction they've had to it after 10 Years and Counting changed their mind lol. I still would rather that song be swiped out for any other Wake or BS song, esp since there is only one BS song on that set! Jesus he really did. Sounded great.
Found some new live videos. They translate so well live. I wish the extra jams in the songs were on the album though. I love how good this sounds live. The extended opening is a nice touch. That extended outro..... Minute Mark 4:40 you guys..... Epic!
That intro to Miracle was fantastic. Some part of me wishes that they would have just gone all in on the album, riff-wise, and just let Ryan put intros and outros and solos all over the place. Might not have worked, but man would I love a Youth-like intro to almost every song .
Ahhh I want to see them live so bad. I live in Arkansas though, so not a big market for them. One of these days I'll make the drive to Missouri to see them.
I wish 100% they would have done the awesome guitar intro and outros to those songs as they did in those videos. Esp if the rest of the songs are full of synths.
On The Beat with Josh Wills from Story of the Year: Recording Wolves | Modern Drummer Magazine The part about them tracking drums and cymbols separately is super interesting. Ive been in the studio a lot before filming bands and I've never heard of that before.
