Currently on track 5. This is a really good album. Aaron Sprinkle was really the perfect man to assist the band. Really digging the vocals so far.
Finished track 8 and holy shitballs this is already shaping up to dethrone Black Swan for me. What a comeback!
I listened thru Eternal Battle last night. Doing a full listen from the beginning right now. Will post thoughts soon!
Okay. One full listen complete. This thing rules. Holy shit Praying For Rain is an epic closer. Sprinkle’s production on this album is incredible.
This album is damn good. Except My Home. I dislike that track. I like it vocally and lyrically but just don't like it musically.
I’ve really liked what I’ve heard so far. I was impressed with the production from the initial songs released. Looking forward to giving this a full listen next week.
There are some excellent high points here. I don't want to take the spotlight off of the band too much, but Aaron Sprinkle really stuck the hat trick this year between Acceptance, NFG, and SOTY. All three bands sound as fresh as they can in 2017. Such a breath of fresh air. The band sounds fantastic on this, they brought their best songwriting chops for sure. I do feel like it overstays its welcome a bit, but that killer closer almost makes me forget that about it. My steering wheel is gonna hate this record.
I like I Swear I'm Okay a lot more when hearing Youth before it. Also, How Can We Go On is a hell of an album opener (not counting Wolves).
I'm excited to give them more listens. How Can We Go On and Bang Bang are probably my favorite on the album, but I need more time. They were smart to lead all this off with pushing Bang Bang as the single, such a great song. Whoa whoa whoa. Not to be the only downer but hell no. Only on 1 listen through and I like it a lot, but better than the past 4? Better than Falling Down, Is This My Fate or Welcome to Our New War? I'll give you Eye for an Eye..... Has this thread gone mad? I'm glad everyone likes it but lets not get out of hand here.......
Between "Wolves" and "Praying for Rain," it seems like this band loves Rise Against. I kid, because in all seriousness, I have always had a soft spot for SOTY and they sound rejuvenated & better than ever. I have to say, Sprinkle is always reliable, but damn, he knocked it outta the park in 2017.
