Album sounds like it will be okay at best. Then again I always preferred heavier SotY and none of these songs are much if that lol
Song is pretty dope. Who cares if there aren't guitars? Go listen to one of their other 50 songs if all you want is screaming and breakdowns
I like it, nice mellow nostalgic feeling. But yeah, based on their choice for producer on this record, it's pretty clear they were going for a more streamlined mainstream-leaning approach this time around. I don't blame them for giving that a shot in a time when poppunk, emo and metalcore etc is getting kinda bigger again. I would love a few guitar-solos from Ryan though, doesn't seem like that will fit in this time...
I'm sure there will be some. Seems like at least one or two heavy, metal-ish songs teased through Instagram studio snippets haven't been released yet.
Although they tend not to speak as well of the record, what is one aspect/song from the constant that he is proud of?
I’ll give it a listen when it comes out but I’m sure if I’m not vibing with half of the record - I’m not gonna vibe with the other half haha
First three records of theirs are good. The constant is mostly ok to me. Wolves was fine at first, but has had no staying power for me and I probably incorrectly have mixed feelings with way things played out with their lineup. New songs have not been for me at all. Hope it does well for them though.
The Ghost of You and I is a banger but that’s pretty much it for me when it comes to The Constant. For me, it’s all about Wake and Black Swan.
Totally up to you if you want to bring it up… but the guys do NOT like talking about the constant lol. Take that for what it’s worth!
In the Wake and Black Swan are definitely my favorites, but I think The Constant has some pretty awesome songs like To the Burial and Won Threw Ate. The Ghost of You and I obviously rules as well. I know a lot of folks don't like that record (the band included obviously) but I'd listen to it all day over Wolves and what we've heard so far from the new record.
Oh 100% agree. I liked maybe two songs off Wolves and I’m not liking any of the material for this new record so far ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Jason Tate was interested to see your thoughts on the new album in this week's newsletter. I know some here might not be thrilled with the impression, but I'm really excited to hear the rest. Besides Glow, would you say any of the unreleased songs are some of the stronger one's on the album? Also thought it was interesting that take the ride is one of your favorites. I don't mind it by any means, but thought it was towards the bottom of those released so far. What do you like most about it?
Friday Melbourne time / Saturday overseas! edit: that’s how the silly time zones make sense in my head lmao. Friday!
