I saw these guys at a venue for the first time in twenty years on their most recent run with Senses Fail...and I was absolutely blown away at how aggressive and epic their stage presence was. I've seen them at festivals, but I'll never miss a venue run again. SF should have never headlined over them. It was honestly embarrassing and I have a soft spot for SF. Both new songs are fantastic and they have me highly anticipating this album drop!
I've always held firm the '03 Nintendo Fusion Tour with SOTY, Letterkills and Lostprophets (yeesh) has been my favorite concert ever. Then I saw them on the Page Avenue anniversary tour and they brought it just as hard 20 years later. Pretty remarkable that they STILL have the same energy and drive (although I definitely miss Phil's harmonies especially on the recorded stuff)
+1 to missing phil. They definitely brough the energy in their shows and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for their double backflips .
Miss Phil deeply. He siginificantly elevated the vocals both Live and in the Studio. With that being said, I have always loved SOTY, deeply. Unfortunately I could not get into their most recent record and these last 2 singles sound more of the same. I appreciate the more straight forward approach to the song writing for mass appeal, but its just not for me. I am one of those that LOVED Wolves. Still wish these guys all the continued success in the world.
It is awesome to hear that they put on such a great show still. They have always been one of my favorite live bands! I miss Phil's contributions as well. Those backflips, spins and kicks made their show so fun!
Have to say that I echo most of the sentiments in this thread about SOTY. I really enjoyed Wolves and TMTP - I think those two releases complimented each other fairly well. Where Wolves is sprawling, TMTP is concise and straightforward. I'm happy to get any new music from them (as well as any other bands of that era) but I can see how this song gives the same vibe as Gasoline and is less exciting because of it.
