So what? They're both high profile British hip-hop artists who released their debut albums relatively close to each other, it's not a stretch to compare them

Yeah, looking at the facts - they are both British, Grime artists but Konnichiwa wasn't Skepta's debut album (there's 3 before it). Skepta is 11years older than Stormzy too.

Their flow and delivery is really different. They'd definitely get categorised in the same genre but I think the variation on this album sets it far enough apart from Skepta's. It's not a stretch but it doesn't lend to how good both albums actually are by comparing.

 

skepta has four albums, steve. all v v good albums too.

honestly besides from both being huge uk mcs i don't think there's many similarities between either skepta or stormzy. same genre, different styles and approaches.

 

i'm still going to say I like this more than Skepta's album, and I didn't even start that conversation

 

This is about 4 tracks too long IMO. Got some absolute bangers, but the god bothering undertone is really off putting. Especially the two 'Grace' tracks. That second one is horrible. Also, whilst the song dedicated to his mum is nice touch, the song itself is really boring. Track with Kehlani is great though.

 

First Things First is such a monster opener.
