I think it'd be the perfect place to test out new material. I've said this before, whether on a podcast or on one of these forums, but musicians don't have the equivalent of a comedy club. They don't have a place to test out 1/2 or 3/4s of a song to see how an audience reacts. They just have to go all in on a finished song.
I'll be at this as well, I'm excited to see PVRIS again since I had to skip out on their last headliner
Question for someone who knows. I just got selected to see Rise Against at House of Vans. The doors for that open at 7 and they have 1 opener. I'm guessing RA would be on around 9. Since the PVRIS show starts at 9, would I have enough time to leave House of Vans around 915/930 and catch PVRIS? The PVRIS event is ticketed so I'm guessing they can't turn anyone away right?
Interesting. It looks like there's around 100 tickets on Stubhub. I wonder how many tickets were onsale? The capacity is 550 so I'm guessing around 500 were on sale with 50 being put aside for guest list.
good shit. To answer your question: *usually* house of vans is very strict on "to capacity" while the free shows at MHOW aren't. I haven't been to one since it was called "steve madden presents:," I've only been to the "converse presents:" ones. I'm pretty sure they have to print that on the ticket for liability. The venues are very close so you can even leave RA at 9:50 or so, walk and catch all of pvris (assuming they go on at 10, which they probably will). Just make sure to get to RA before doors because I know for a fact they turn a LOT of people away
Does anybody want a ticket for this? I have an extra, free of course, it's a PDF, will email it. EDIT: claimed!
I think you meant to quote me but thanks for the heads up! I'm going to try and get to RA by 430/5. I have no problem waiting for 2 hours to get in. I also haven't attended any Steve Madden shows but I remember showing up late for the Converse "Glassjaw" show and walked right in. That was also on a Friday in the summer while this is a Monday in late April.
Could be more set aside but I don't know. Hopefully, it won't be like that Foo Fighters/Irving Plaza debacle where only 300 tickets were set aside for fans and the rest were for suits.
Yeah that was completely fucked up. Same with the Green Day show at Irving. I don't think that's going to happen since this is part of a series.
Looks like RA was going to start at 930pm so that would've been pointless. Going to walk around and then head to the line. I'm 6ft4 wearing a yellowcard final tour hoodie and jeans. If you see me, come say hi! My name is John or you can yell Behind the Barricade. I answer to both lol
