Saw this earlier, absolutely crazy, so happy for him. I remember seeing The Internet at a free concert at my university not long after he’d joined the group. Wild to see where he is now.
Can you explain it to me, an old man? I've never heard it anywhere other than playing it myself on purpose, did it get big on tiktok?
I wish I knew... But for real I have no idea. I kinda just assume any artist getting a big break these days is because of tiktok, but I’m not actually on the app myself. Heard it all over Instagram reels though and just generally in the wild, at restaurants and stuff
I wasn't sure if I knew this song or not so I tossed it on and in like 5 seconds I was like ohh that song haha definitely big on tik tok
Not familiar with this dude's music at all really but I feel pretty horrible for him. It has to be insanely discouraging to be performing you art that you've poured countless hours into in front of people so blatantly disinterested in it and really anything other than capturing a viral moment for their instagram story or whatever. Not to sound like a boomer but the culture around music has never felt as vapid as it does right now. someone wipe Tiktok from existence plz
Totally agreed. I’ve been a fan for years and I’m sure the lack of respect for him at shows recently must be very frustrating. While I’m sure he’s grateful for the success of Bad Habit, I hope more than anything that he’s able to build an enduring career out of it rather than it just being a viral moment that fades out quickly.
The one of the crowd literally stopping dead when the tik tok part ends is so cringe. I really hate being the old man yelling at clouds, and the kids can consume music however they want in their own time, but if you know one part of one song.. maybe you don't need to go to that show? Has me nervous for how Omar Apollo is going to be. And throwing a camera not even on stage but directly at him? I'd be pissed off too. Idk it just makes me scared for the future of live shows
Listening to this/him for the first time now. First track sounds pretty good but I laughed out loud when he went uwuwuwuwuwuwu
