I read somewhere he worked with other songwriters this time around...

not to take merit from him, he’s still golden - just an observation

 

feel like 30 years of consistency would fool a lot of songwriters into thinking they're infallible so if that's true that's dope imo. he's let the jicks contribute some in the past, though, hasnt he?

 

Yea this is great. Pavement is one of the greatest bands ever too so.

 

this record is fucking stellar, wow. WOW. it feels very immediate in the best way, but maybe i'm just enough of a fan now. nothing of his has ever really contained this sense of grandiosity either. lyrically, more singular him. he's such a huge inspiration on me vocally. him and Frances from hop along can just mash anything over any melody.

Malkmus is one of my all time fav guitar players for sure

 

This is wonderful. Some classic Malkmus lyrics throughout

 

"Middle America" is probably my favorite song he's written since Pavement.

song is good! 60s, Revolver type vibe but way less derivative than that description sounds. he's on fire recently. who's making the thread?

 

This album holds up so well and is one of if not the best Stephen Malkmus solo record TBH
