Currently listening to Desperation after probably 15 years…it’s brand new again and I’m enjoying it so far. I never read regulators so am going to do that right after!
I don’t think so, but reading them one after the other probably gives you the best “experience” I read Desperation first and really liked it much more than the Regulators. I stupidly didn’t read them together haha
I’m about 40% through the final DT book and it’s dragging a little. I wish I had read Hearts in Atlantis before this, so I can appreciate the backstory I’m getting on Ted.
Breezing through the last 100 or so pages of 11.22.63. Been loving it. Has anyone been watched the tv adaptation from a few years back?
My friend makes super awesome dolls for a living and she’s currently working on a Stephen King collection. Thought this one was great.
realized today that imo Eddie Dean's voice is just Joey Wheeler from yugioh. not sure if anyone else is of the right age for that voice to be embedded into their mind but I was reminded of it and that connection will never leave
This makes so much sense lmao Speaking of which, I just got done with the battle at Algul Siento in DT VII. FUCK :/
Call me crazy but Kieran Culkin could make a pretty good Eddie with the sarcasm and the sharp wit and all that. Also, just got to the other awful part of DT VII. Jake now too? Fuck me.
I've only read The Drawing of the Three so far, but he was Ebon Moss-Bachrach in my head. Granted I was also watching The Bear at the time.
Kieran Culkin is an interesting pick too, one of my favourite actors right now but he's a little bit wiry. if he bulked up a bit I could see it for sure seen people suggest Olyphant as Roland and Goggins as Walter and now I don't know if any other casting can live up in my head haha
Dude, I totally think of Goggins as Walter, haha. It makes too much sense. I remember reading Javier Bardem was originally going to be Roland before they cast Idris Elba in the movie. In my head, I see Jeffrey Dean Morgan when I think of Roland.
Elba was great casting too, really a shame that movie was bad to the point of not existing in my head. McConny was a decent Flagg too
I just read an article where Flanagan was talking about his DT adaptation. He said the biggest thing holding them back is that Warner Brothers owns the rights to Salem's Lot and Hearts in Atlantis, which means they own those characters. So they have to negotiate that before they can do anything. The good thing is while we wait for that, the Carrie adaptation Flanagan is doing should be done filming in October. Has anyone started The Institute on MGM+ yet? I am going to start it this weekend.
Goggins as Walter is perfect for sure. And, it's good to hear that they aren't trying to adapt without having the HoA and SL rights
