Yeah me too. Like using it to justify some things was fine but it really didn’t seem necessary even though he says it was in the authors note or whatever at the end
I’m 200 pages in now and do like the story, but man do I cringe at everything Covid lol It might serve me better reading this like 15 years into the future where the “living day to day during Covid” isn’t fresh and annoying to me? I don’t know haha Still enjoying it though
Holly is sadly pretty mid-low tier King for me. Really was not into quite a few things about it beyond the Covid setting. As for the series. It will be interesting to see if they choose to set the series during the pandemic or not. Anyways - on to the next one. Starting The Dark Half next.
I'm sad to hear most people disliked Holly. I just finished If It Bleeds yesterday so I'm caught up in the character to check it out
Change of plan. Forgot I got The Colorado Kid for Christmas so I’m gonna knock that out and then jump unto The Dark Half.
I finished If It Bleeds yesterday. Overall a really good collection. (This is a confusing statement because a few days ago I also posted "I finished If It Bleeds yesterday". That time I was talking about the novella, this time I mean the full book) I also picked up Holly and Fairy Tale over the weekend
There is so much King that I haven’t read and I’m a slow reader, so it frustrates me lol I have to still read Wizard and Glass but I want to dig into so much other stuff.
After reading SL last year, I’d love to see a slow build up in that town. The characters and setting were written perfectly.
I’m glad I took a little break in between The Waste Lands and Wizard and Glass. I’m about 120 pages into Wizard and Glass and it’s so great to jump back in. The books look so daunting from the outside but he’s just a master of pace. You can so easily get lost and forget how many pages you’re reading.
I’m exactly halfway through Wizard & Glass. I’m so glad I decided to start DT last year. His writing and set pieces in these books are my favorite.
I’ve got about 100 pages left of Wizard and Glass. This book is unbelievable. I understand why everyone loves it. It really has everything. I don’t know how 5-7 will compare but it’s going to be hard to top it.
