Picked up Holly tonight! Putting it on my bookshelf reminded me that most of his recent books have some damn good covers.
I just started. She's so great. He really doesn't waste time making his thoughts on anti-maskers/vaxxers/whatever very clear.
About halfway through Needful Things right now and am loving it. Picked up the movie on 4K. Haven’t ever seen it and am looking forward to watching both versions when I finish the book.
I might have written this in here but I was not big on Fairy Tale. Beginning and end had me invested but everything else was not great IMO. Was happy to get on the Stephen King Reddit to see I wasn’t alone feeling that way because most of the buzz around the book feels positive.
I loved Fairy Tale until around the 2/3 point when a major plot moment happened. It lead me to the Dark Tower, but book 7 has been taking all summer. Hoping to find some fall motivation to read so I can check out Holly.
Overdue follow-up! Bangor was so cool. I love walking around scenic small towns and this was worth the car ride from Portland. We cherry picked some inspirational locations and I picked up Salem’s Lot which was a huge blind spot for me. I just finished it and absolutely LOVED it.
This time of the year and I’m itching hard to re-read Salem’s Lot. Might have to say Needful Things and Salem’s Lot are my two favorites of his, along with of course and obviously It.
I saw that too and am excited to watch it again. I watched it to death as a kid and haven't seen it in years. I can't imagine it holds up but hopefully the nostalgia will be warm enough.
There’s an Alamo Drafthouse near me so I went after work tonight and saw The Shining. That movie really hums in a theater with surround sound. What a ride. It’s one thing to see it on TV but you really need to see it on a big screen if you can.
For some reason Bag Of Bones is one of the 2-3 King books I haven’t read and I finally am getting around to it. I had heard bad things but I’m midway through and I am enjoying so far. Not as slow as I’d heard!
