I'm like twenty five pages from the end of Mr. Mercedes and if this ends on a cliffhanger I'm gonna be pissed.
How's Dolores Claiborne? I'm on a King kick right now, but I'd like to intersperse my reading of the Hodges trilogy with lesser known ones that I haven't read yet.
Very good. The way he does the narration is completely different than anything he's done before. If you haven't read Gerald's Game there's something that ties them together in a pretty cool way.
I still need to read Dolores (and Gerald's) but I really enjoyed the Dolores movie when I watched it years ago. Starting Finders Keepers this weekend!
Yeah the film for Dolores is definitely one of his best adaptations. Both it and GG are pretty quick reads. Make sure to post your thoughts on Finders Keepers! I'm sure you'll love it.
Aren't they making a Gerald's Game movie? There is one scene in that book that made me more squeamish than anything I've ever read before.
Mike Flanagan is suppose to direct it but he keeps getting jobs so who knows if it will actually happen.
Finders Keepers was so so good. Literally read the last 2/3 of it today. Can't wait to read End of Watch.
Yeah you absolutely need to keep going. I thought book #1 was alright but I wasn't hooked by any means. I didn't start book 2 until a year later at a friends insistence and man am I glad I did. Might be my favorite book series now.
Ha, that's awesome. They're such an easy and fun. End of Watch just takes it to a new level bringing back classic King horror to mix in with the pulp. I definitely felt like this was one of those books like Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon or Revival, that wasn't outright terrifying such as IT or Pet Semetary, but still manages to get under your skin when you think about the concepts involved. I also thought that was a perfect ending not to happy, not too sad. Jerome and Holly at the funeral was such a delight and I'm glad Hodges got a few good months. All the suicides that still happened though is just terrifying. Barbara and her new boyfriend were also great, haha. Back when we were expecting Anton in Brady's role I kept thinking how they were going to play the whole dead, but in a different body thing. That's going to be an interesting challenge.
