Found a used Kingdom Hospital box set that was in good shape yesterday and snagged the scripts for The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption. Feeling a little behind on my reading for the podcast so I'm hoping to power through Bachman Books this week. Then I'll be diving into IT. Maybe after that I'll be able to take a breather haha.
Stephen King was a guest on Post Mortem today and I don’t believe he’s ever done any other podcasts. Highly recommend checking it out. Post Mortem with Mick Garris: 54: Stephen King on Apple Podcasts
Really enjoyed Mr. Mercedes trilogy (well 2 of the 3) and especially loved The Outsider. His recent crime and investigative novels have been sweet. Certainly down for this!
We covered both film adaptations of Pet Sematary and the making-of doc on Shudder called Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary. 18. Sometimes Dead Is Better
They showed a little teaser for The Outsider last night before GOT. It was like 5-10 seconds, but its coming next year.
Damn I totally missed that but in all fairness I probably wasn't in the best state of mind 10 seconds before the GOT finale started.
Dropping this episode in here since we literally discussed what a good adaptation of The Long Walk could look like. Chat Sematary | The Bachman Books (1985) | Episode 27
It was all over the place. Obviously it can get better (or worse) but I didn’t like the tone at all. There was no sense of dread and Manx seemed underutilized.
Yeah it was good not great when it deserves to be great. I did like Manxs monologue in the opening. Feels really pg too when we know amc can do more. Mainly just proof that it should have been a movie.
The cold open was solid and the rest just felt jumbled. I bet it was very confusing for those that have not read the book.
Just watched Creepshow 2 and I’m currently making my way through Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three.
Almost done with The Stand. Prob my favorite of his work. Expecting it to get really weird in the last 200 pages.
Ha, yeah, definitely curious how someone who hasn't read the book would take all that. I do like that they're just saying fuck it and going all in with the fantasy stuff though, one of Joe's best qualities. Also I assumed you noticed Pennywise's Circus that made me super happy.
So this site definitely seems like the right place to ask this: does Murder by Death make anyone else just immediately think of the Dark Tower? WWSAWWBLOT? And ROTAC especially.
