He’s 25 though, aren’t they portraying Roland’s past? Hes 14 when he becomes a gunslinger, the youngest to become one.
I mean obviously they were gonna age them up. And honestly when I read wizard and glass I imagine someone in their early twenties.
I'm fine with this. Roland's age is always a bit of a 'is he ancient, is he 40?' kind of thing in the later books anyways.
It seems like a lot of the best reviews were early on and now it’s dropping quite a bit. I’m very curious to see what people here have to think.
I'm seeing an average of B+ from what I've seen. which while obviously I want it to be amazing, I can live with. i'll definitely report back probably Monday, I don't come on here much on the weekend.
I’m a huge fan of Pet Semetary the book and never watched the first movie, so going into this movie I didn’t know what to anticipate. Reading the book I was left feeling miserable and uncomfortable (in a good way). This movie left me feeling a similar way and that is all I care about. I actually enjoyed the way they ended it, which is obviously a decent departure. I enjoyed this movie a lot.
i thought Pet Sematary (2019) was good, not great. my biggest issue is pacing. the movie is only an hour and 40 minutes, it could have easily been 2 hours. let me sit and stew in the dread for a bit. and even just normal scenes of build up felt rushed through. but once that scene happens, which honestly did get to me more than I expected and I got up and walked out for a minute, it just powered through so quick that it never reached that emotional high for me after that. i'll probably watch it again when it comes out, but I'd be curious how much is on the cutting room floor.
Fuck me that’s rad. I’m saving my right arm for a Dark Tower piece but I have no idea what to do for it
I would love to do something like Roland reaching the hill overlooking the field of roses with the tower in the background.
Some more recent news on adaptations: And Now Stephen King’s REST STOP Will Become A Movie AMC Cocoons Stephen King Story “Sleeping Beauties”
I am about 85 pages into Rose Madder and really into it, but I just read the novel is Stephen King's lowest-selling book in history and one of the least well-received by fans, and even Stephen King himself regretted writing the novel. The beginning of the book was really, really hard to read since it's about spousal abuse but goddamn it sucked me right in.
