I wasn't too sure after reading the first one, but I'm on the last book now and it's been a really great experience. It's a good way to explore the story again without reading that monster of a book again. And it's about as faithful as an adaptation as it gets, even has the stuff from the unedited version of the book. For the most part they use King's exact words as their script.
About to pick up book 7, The Dark Tower, and finish my quest. I'm curious, yet terrified of the end of this.
I was going to read them all in chronological order, but that would take way too long. I’ll probably switch and start with stuff being adapted or that was recently adapted.
I was skeptical about a Bill Hodges tv adaption but that actually looks pretty good (although targeting crowds with vehicles and bombs at pop concerts have somewhat different connotations now)
Hoping for a fake boy band in Mr Mercedes. I also feel like King wrote some lyrics, though I can't remember specifically, if so, please use those. I think the new Brady will work too, I liked him on Penny Dreadful. Big difference between him and Anton imo is Anton looked a bit more innocent and this guy looks dastardly as hell.
Currently listening to the audiobook of The Stand. I'm really enjoying it so far. Probably going to listen to IT next.
Starting book 2 of the Dark Tower series this morning, pretty exciting to finally really dig into this.
Does he say what it's rated yet? (I was joking but he hints at the obvious pg13) "We've definitely thought a lot about the racial tension between Detta and Roland and how casting Idris would affect that. I can't spoil anything, but we're definitely not going to leave this important theme unaddressed. And oh yeah, of course we're going to have Billy-Bumblers - and Oy's one of my favorite characters."
I am so excited for the new It footage and trailer that is supposed to come out in the next few days.
