Also, Katy Lied is awesome and mayyyybe my favorite album of theirs. If anyone here hasn’t gotten to that one yet, please prioritize.

Was just listening last night actually. Porcaro's work on that record is everything I love about him as a drummer

Glad you enjoyed! Truly great album and a cool concept it explores.

My dad played Kamikiriad a TON during my childhood, to the point where I still know almost every word.

Wow okay, I'm not that surprised that there is a thread for Steely Dan, but I am surprised to see it as active as earlier this month.

I've been exploring their catalog a lot the past few months but have mainly been stuck on The Royal Scam and Aja. Any recs on where to go from here? I have so many core memories from when I was real young of my dad playing his Can't Buy a Thrill cd in the truck, so I've always had a strong nostalgic pull to that whole album.

  24. Shhhh - don't tell Steve Albini about this thread!

Listen to Katy Lied and Gaucho, and then Donald's The Nightfly. The Nightfly is one of the greatest anti depression albums for me lol
