yeah this is really good stuff, not sure if I prefer it to Rouge yet but both are packed with bangers. they've got a bright future
I’ve been meaning to rip it off YouTube since they’re apparently not releasing it properly so I may have to do this as a playlist too.
The single complaint I have is that the opening riff to questioning sounds like it’s about to explode at the nine second mark but it just stays the same and it lacked the punch that track needed. Great track but it sounds a little quieter and mellow than it should be if that makes sense? That’s literally it - otherwise no notes from me!
yeah i think this album sounds like you are listening to it inside of a tunnel lmao the songs are pretty good though, so far its for sure the more melodic of the two but im only on hospice
i didnt mean that in a bad way btw just feels like im hearing more finch and glassjaw than like dtgl typa stuff. i thought it was a lot of fun though i really dig it
definitely stranger on that one than the rest but i think overall it’s just a bit over compressed. also think the vocals are way too buried at some points. however these are minor nitpicks and i know they approached the production of this with wanting to keep performances sounding real and not robotic which i think is achieved even if some of the execution is imperfect. it’s a really tremendous record imo
Agreed re: the compression and the kind of buried vocals. For some songs those things feel like maybe more of a feature than a bug, but there are also moments that I find myself wishing had a little bit more space to breathe
i realized today 1:50 in lip critic is almost vocally note for note lifted from understanding in a car crash. so much going on in that song, probably my favorite
I really like this (like top 5 of 2026 so far) but it sounds very cluttered (not sure that is the right word), like none of the instruments really stand apart from one another and you just hear a wall of sound instead of guitar, bass, drums, etc. (not sure did a great job explaining that). Also, on most of the songs its hard to understand what the vocalist is saying without reading the lyrics. Echoing what someone else said about the vocals sounding buried at times.
Lip Critic through Classic Death Pose is a wild ride. There’s so much going on with sounds, I didn’t think I’d ever hear Glassjaw verses with AAF choruses. This sounds good on headphones but kind of sounds weird in my car, the snare is so out front of everything else.
I love the production. Feels like it's always one moment away from absolutely exploding your speakers.
I’m with you. Really awkward as an opener especially after the lil intro Classic death pose is the one for me. Love how unhinged it sounds. Very Glassjaw
can someone please tell me what the chorus of pharmacy film sounds like vocally, my brain is like right there but i feel like i can’t pinpoint who im hearing. something like story of the year, senses fail maybe?
