Yea male-bomb really got me. Whole thing rips though, super happy they're keeping things going after their debut

Never heard them before but this is really, really good so I’m glad I decided to throw it on.

  4. Yeah this rules. I am satisfied. As expected, Hospice worked much better in the full album’s context for me than it did as a single. Human Props (somehow) hit even harder when preceded by like 7-8 absolute bangers. Adored the closer. Excited for a headphone listen later, the production here is so appropriately aggressive that it was occasionally hard to take in everything that was going on throughout

On the other end, I feel this album deserves a stronger opener - something more immediate and introductory, driving. “Questioning” is a fine song but doesn’t really feel like one of those soaring invitations in the way it would seem this band is more than capable of writing (in keeping with previous comparisons, Tip Your Bartender, Helena, Young and Aspiring, etc). Even listening back now, I feel more excited about pretty much anything else I know is coming

might be a misplaced comparison, but i'm hearing a little bit of Sullivan in Adapter

I'm starting to think this album might be something special for me. Not only is it reminiscent of some of my favorite early 00's post-hardcore classics, the range on here is so impressive. You have your straightforward songs, punkier ones, slow burners, complete ragers, and even some nostalgic interludes with obtuse titles. Static Dress are able to successfully execute all of these styles. It's a nostalgic, yet fresh wild ride and I'm here for it.

The stretch from Male-Bomb through Adult Diamond is outrageous to me.

Add lip critic to that stretch and that’s my favorite section of the record as of now.

  13. I had this same exact train of thought earlier re: the last few posts and wound up at Adapter to Treading lol. Fucking great record

  14. Imagine if "death to the overground" was the opener. If it was on streaming services, I'd even come up with an alternate tracklisting and see how that goes

  15. And the glitchy elements, like the parts where they use production tricks to push their heavier side to its extremes make it feel modern and new. I love it so much

I’ve been meaning to listen to the new Turnover and Iceage record this weekend and can’t. It’s just been this record on repeat all goddamn weekend hahah

Absolutely going on my top 10 AOTY list. Maybe even top 5. This is stellar and they’ve really outdone themselves.
