Tough shake sharing a release day with Turnstile Don’t really know anything about these guys other than having heard a single back when The Starting Line announced them as openers on their fall tour. Will check this out for sure
Pretty sure everything they have done from It's What We Do through this new album has been with Zach Tuch. Also pretty sure he has even mastered for them. Only thing that is maybe different this time is Jesse Field doing some additional engineering. To your point, I feel like this album is going more for like the TSL or Cartel end of 2000's pop punk and less of the Long Island sound from their previous stuff. Going that direction maybe just lead to a brighter sounding collection of songs.
That makes a lot of sense, might even just be an Apple Music thing. I noticed the vocals on “All On Red” and “Crash Course” seemed kinda hard to make out in the mix while they seemed a little brighter and more vocal-forward on these new songs.
early mixes of the album had the vocals set back quite a bit, so i'm happy they brought it out front more. it hits harder
Found this album a few weeks ago and have been spinning this and that Bearings album from 2023 non-stop. This is my album of the summer for sure. Aly's Song and Mile Marker are both so good Edit: I also tried to find them on Bandcamp to buy the EP before this album but they only have a 2022 release up. Interestingly one of the tracks has guest vox from someone named Ethan Sgarbossa, any relation to Connie from SYSC?
