New acoustic song is pretty good. Love the digging up picket fences line

I like the song but something about the vocals is throwing me off a bit. Not sure if it's the production or what but they sound less "Derek-y" than usual.

    Just me?

They're still on Pure Noise. I saw they promoted the single.

How Pure Noise has managed to hold onto TSSF and State Champs their entire career is crazy. Would have assumed one of or both would have bounced at their peak

  17. SC was close. Might still happen eventually. Not big into this band at all but they’ve definitely acquired interest from much much bigger labels.

I thought this band was on Hopeless Records for the last 4 years so there’s that

This is a decent but unspectacular single. I fo wish they made the guitars pop more again on the mix like on the first album.

There's definitely something different going on with the vocals. He's always had a distinct voice, and here it sounds like too much has been done with compression or other forms of finetuning (don't really know the production terms), especially in the verses. Song's pretty good though - great chorus.

Exactly - I don't know enough anything about production to say what it is but something just feels off.

I like the new song a lot. Derek is sounding a lot like the singer from With The Punches at times in the song. And the more I listen to it, the whole song sounds like a WTP song.

They played a different new one at Slam Dunk and I thought it sounded better than the current single.

  25. There was likely a lot more melodyne applied to Derek's voice in order to help those super thick harmonies sick. As a result, a lot of the vibrato and inflections that help his voice sit apart from a lot of the genre have been smoothed over.
