I believe it’s 29 years before. Battle of Jakku is a year after Endor and I think Force Awakens is 30 years after Endor.

Ahhh; yeah I recently saw a video explaining what went down in the Battle of Jakku, and knew the beginning of TFA took place on Jakku, but couldn't tell how close those events were. Kind of a weird world to try and make your last stand on (one without seemingly any resources). I assume all the people we saw living there at the beginning of TFA were leftovers from both sides that fought in the battle

  3. There are books out there that fill in the holes

  4. Also twin suns is such a special episode of rebels.

Jakku was set up by Palpatine to essentially be a self destruct button/clear the chess board on the Empire.

So he basically didn't want it continuing on in any form without him? Like, "If they don't have me, then there's no point in having an Empire"?

Caught up on the last few episodes of Resistance and...I’m glad others are getting enjoyment out of the show cause it is really doing nothing for me and can often be grating.

The back half of last season had the more solid moments. I had hoped that meant this season would pick up there, but to me it hasn’t hit the same level. I’m glad they’re wrapping it up, hopefully they’ll launch a new animated series more up my alley.

Basically. But sending some into the unknown regions to reform into the First Order was part of it, too.

it’s been a hot minute since I read the Aftermath trilogy.

I didn't enjoy the Aftermath trilogy all that much, but maybe I'll brush up with Wookieepedia before TROS comes out.

Books 2 and 3 were a lot better than the first for me.

  15. They were all pretty bad imo. The author is not a good writer.

It’s gonna be great. I’ve really been looking forward to it because Rebels has such a great finale. Will be awesome to see Filoni and team get a chance to wrap it up for real.

Here’s a short write up I did for a comic group I run about a mini series I read.

Today I read... Star Wars Allegiance, a 4 issue limited series by Ethan Sacks and Luke Ross. This takes place before episode 9, the new movie coming out next month. Unlike a lot of people, I wasn’t into Star Wars growing up. It wasn’t until the current trilogy that I got hooked, so I loved this story. All the characters are in this. Admiral Organa, Rey, Rose, Chewy, and C3P0 go to Mon Cala, Ackbar’s home planet, for assistance in the war. Ackbar’s son is in this, so that was cool to see him in canon. Meanwhile, Poe and Finn are tracking down some weapons and ammo on a moon...and being tracked by bounty hunters. This isn’t anything groundbreaking, but I really enjoyed this. Luke Ross’ art is top-notch and always like seeing background on characters from the films being expanded on.

  19. Watched rogue one again today and still think it's very good. Way better than solo.

Only thing that bothers me is tarkin. No need to ever see his face. You could have done every scene with him looking out the window and not had to cgi him.

I thought it was actually pretty cool seeing him like that; the CGI (imo) was pretty well done.

The Leia CGI face was waaaaaaay worse than Tarkin

    The entire movie was.

it’s not just you, but saying something in media is “unnecessary” is quickly becoming my least favorite “critique” of something ever. It basically means it could have been written differently, which, of course, duh. But you could say that about almost anything ever. So it boils down to meaning pretty much nothing.

Just finished Trial of the Darksaber in my Rebels rewatch. I forgot how incredible and powerful that ending was.

  25. I'm not going to get into it with you but cgi ing someone's likeness that is dead is problematic.
