I’d hate to have the trolls win // perceive it as a win

 

Lindsay is a pretty good film analyst in my book, her channel has all kinds of film analysis videos that are great. Her recent three part series on the Hobbit trilogy and what went wrong is really well done and is highly recommended.

And that sucks for Kelly and Daisy. I hope as time goes on they are able to return and not deal with the toxic side of the fan base. I don’t understand people who focus so much on what they dislike and feel the need to make everyone else hate it too.

 

Just want to say that I regret making that long post which at first I stated that I wanted her to step down. I changed my stance in that post to somebody who has a deeper understanding of all the Star Wars lore being in a higher position of power working with Kennedy, and still stand by that. But I really flip-flopped about her stepping down because I dont want that and feel shitty that she might be now.

I admittedly was getting dragged down by all the negativity and started focusing on the wrong things instead of the fact that she gave me 2 of my favorite movies ever. A movie I loved in Rogue One. and a movie I liked in Solo. along with a handful of awesome decisions/hirings and also not be afraid to do some very controversial things in these movies. These movies could easily be as artificial and meaningless fan-service blockbusters like Jurassic World or Transformers and what weve gotten is some deep and meaningful movies that have been widely successful and have touch millions.

As Steve said the toxic fans that it would empower that they actually won and got her to step down would be awful. If she does step down though, I really hope Kiri Hart takes her place, even above the other names I mentioned, including Filoni.

 

No biggie it’s all rumors at the moment so it may not even happen. The negativity on social media, Reddit, etc is very tough. I don’t listen to Collider anymore or visit r/StarWars and now I try to go to follow more positive people/sites.

 

Kiri Hart sounds like a solid replacement should it come to that, but overall there's no reason for Kennedy to step down.

 

Yeah, I understand that. I try not to but any time I read the comments I get bummed out from all the hate. its been hard for me to break from Collider because I do love some people there like Perri and Ellis, but I really dont care for much of what they are doing there now other than the Schmoedown. Jedi Council is just Kristian complaining most of the time about Star Wars and the hate he gets for not liking the new movies.

Problem is I always get sucked in because I love Ken and the guests like Ash Crossan or Rosie Knight. Hes also interviewed Jonas Suotamo, Vanessa Marshall, Dave Filoni, Tiya Sircar, Freddie Prinze Jr. recently which were all really great.

 

Yea.... I really only follow Force Center these days. While they don’t shy away from speaking to some issues, they emphasize that all SW is good from a certain point of view. The fandom has been so toxic since TLJ, it’s such a bummer. My least favorite part is when people like Harloff and Jahns act like the real fans are the ones who have issues with TLJ and if you like it you’re just not a REAL fan.

 

Idk. I never got the sense their opinions go that extreme. I do get the sense (especially from Kristian) that they know more about Star Wars more than everybody else or what its supposed to be. But not that the people who like it arent real fans.

 

That’s fine, but that’s what I get from them. So I’m kind of turned off on hearing either of them talk about SW for right now.

Watching Collider’s Star Wars Schmoedown which is a trivia competition. The first mention of the Last Jedi was met with a wave of cheers (a few boos but mostly cheers) and it made me really happy.
