Indeed, Thrawn was also very good.

How is the Aftermath trilogy and Phasma?

Aftermath is decent, it gets better as it goes.

Phasma is alright. It doesn’t really feel like Star Wars though, to me. It’s very different.

I bought it, haven’t started reading yet. I’ll throw out some general thoughts when I do.

  8. Detailed Rundown of Disney Parks’ Upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Last Month Orlando Weekly published a comprehensive rundown on what we can expect out of the new lands. Most of this isn’t new news, but it is the first time we’ve seen everything we know about Galaxy’s edge in one place. So, we thought we’d share it with out readers as an easy place to get caught up on what is coming to Disney World and Disneyland.

I may or may not be getting an opportunity to tour what they have done so far this spring. It’s not a lock, but I will murder my boss if he doesn’t take me with him.

Finally finished Legends of Luke Skywalker and while it fits great thematically with Last Jedi, some of the stories are just awful and should have never even been pitched let alone written down and published. I think the story of the bug creature in Jabba’s Palace is the single worst/dumbest thing I’ve ever read/seen in all of Star Wars. If the legends tod were more plausible and more about him learning about the force, it could have been something really cool.

Brought in the new year watching A New Hope, Death Star exploded right at midnight. 10/10 would rec/will do again.

Just started reading. Other than that bug creature one, any others I can skip?

Off the top of my head... the one where Luke is dressed up as a droid seemed irrelevant.

Don’t think anything came from that one.

There’s 6 total legends. The first three are worthwhile. 4 is the droid one which is fun but adds little, 5 is the bug one which you should skip, and 6 you can skim until the last 10-15 pages. I don’t want to tell you to not read many of them because then that defeats the purpose of the book but just don’t have too high expectations for the second half.

    6 is very important.

The last 10-15 pages totally I agree, but that one as well as the Starship Graveyard suffer from being back loaded in my opinion. Not much happening then ends with a big force idea or lesson for Luke.

Hmm Ill see how it goes. I may just skip 5 then. Thanks for the help! Still think its funny the only book I didnt read of the journey to the last jedi series was probably the most relevant.

The first story is super pointless, too

Yeah but I had a lot of fun with it and I think it sets the stage really well with how much stock you should put into these legends and these narrators.

Reading Cobalt Squadron now and am really enjoying the relationship between Rose and Paige. This one definitely won’t take me long to finish.

Didn't know there were going to be multiple Thrawn books. Thrawn: Alliances is slated for June so I guess I'll have to read the first book before then. Just looks like that and the novelization for The Last Jedi as far as the novels go this year (that they've announced so far, anyway).

Yet, a few of them should be taken seriously. It’s an awful book.

One thing I think they need to pull back on is the multiple stories in one book. Between Certain Point of View, Legends of Luke, and Canto Bight which I’ll get as soon as it hits paperback there’s a lot of books that are just short stories put together. While those can be fun, there’s no reason for 3 of them in 3 months and there’s always a lot of duds in books like that.
