Toys / merch may have more weight than box office nowadays I’m afraid.

Loved Maul. Specially Devon, really cool character. Almost shat my pants at the end of episode 9.

The box office was amazing for TFA. Then it fell $700 million for TLJ and then another $300 million for TROS. Those are steep declines

They're absolutely not going to decanonize the ST. The closest I could see them coming, and this is kind of my prediction right now, is that the upcoming Filoni-directed movie that's supposed to be the ending of the Mando-verse shows can kind of act like a "soft" ending with Thrawn being defeated and the remnants of the Empire being destroyed

Basically a loose adaptation of the original Thrawn trilogy

Maul is fucking cool man. Love the art style in a lot of the backgrounds too - sort of reminds me of the old glass painting techniques they used in the original trilogy backgrounds

Saw Mando & Grogu last night. It certainly wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great. It was a story for Disney+, not film. Felt like 3 episodes of tv stacked together. Not grande and also a bit boring. I was expecting they would throw in a couple surprises for a theatrical Star Wars, but nope.

I just watched it! Everything they are saying is probably true, but I watched it with my kids and had an absolute blast. I think it’s a more childish movie than people expected, which might explain the disappointment. In any case, we had a great time.

As someone who was a pretty casual fan of the Mando show and goes hard for the deeper lore and myth stuff, I really enjoyed it. Excited to take my kid. The themes worked for me and my theater was packed. I really want to see another season and want the heir to the empire conclusion movie. I hope it does well enough to warrant that. To me, it felt like the best live action adaptation of stuff that heavily references the cartoons. I liked it a lot more than expected.

Seeing the Mandalorian movie today really drove home the fact that you can basically throw almost anything that takes place in this universe in front of me and I will enjoy it to some extent (except TROS)

Had a very similar feeling. Got to see the first two acolyte episodes on for a theater premiere, rotj, phantom, and revenge for the rereleases and it reminded me how fun it is to see Star Wars on the big screen.

IMG_3436.jpeg Sam Witwer, Matthew Wood, Vanessa Marshall, David W Collins! Ok done bragging now lol.

    Fun stuff I learned:
    - They all do so many additional voices in stuff. In the rogue one Vader hallway scene David and Sam both have lines - Sam says “open fire” and “LAUNCH” and David is the voice of the guy banging on the door screaming. Lots of little bits in animated stuff too.

    - Matthew was a game tester for all the super old LucasArts games way back in the day. In addition to being Hera and Rook, Vanessa was also the voice of Jan in Jedi Outcast wayyy back in the day.

Did the OG clone wars mini series for a flight on a whim and I REALLY dug it! Loved how stylized it is, dooku as the pseudo master was killer, all the Jedi counsel stuff was great, the overall tone was amazing and the Anakin arc was very solid. It felt more mystic and the war scenes felt more grim. I had seen bits and pieces when it was airing and I went back to clips online, but this is the first time I sat down front to back. Really enjoyed the different interpretation.
