It is kind of interesting that they have all this stuff and KK is like “Yeah, Disney is too scared.”

 

Well, Star Wars fans are pretty scary.

 

I especially like that she goes from confirming the Hunt for Ben Solo was a thing, to saying anything is possible if someone will take a risk, to essentially saying Disney is the reason they aren’t taking risks.

Pretty much what we all assumed, but really hoping they start loosening up.

 

So basically, Kennedy supports these films, but Disney is getting cold feet. That might be influencing her exit. She’s going to get blamed by general audiences for why the films aren’t getting made, so she might as well bounce and avoid that headache.

 

This isn't true.There are videos of him saying the opposite while there's one unverified rumor that says he doesn't.

After the Kenobi series was awful took a break from Star Wars. In the past few months Andor and Jedi Survivor have brought me back

Re-read The Light of the Jedi because I want to continue The High Republic and forgot what happened. Also read Thrawn Alliances, and I have the prequel novelizations and some Legends stuff lined up.

Watching Mando season 3 (fine) and rewatched The Bad Batch season 1 (great) since I never got around to season 2

The Outlaws game is on sale, might grab that

 

I’ve been putting serious hours into Outlaws, it is so so good and so underrated. By far the most immersive, alive, accurate SW universe in gaming. More than the Jedi games. Serious.

 

I have been considering grabbing it on switch. Not my favorite type of game, but I’ll probably grab it on super sale at some point this year.

 

I am really optimistic that Dave will have a much more direct influence on lore and ethos. I think Kathleen should have always had a lore / creative person around her. I know Dave was in pitch meetings as early as TFA. I hope he gets a much more direct ability to impact change and guide creatives in the world of Star Wars. I’ve listened to podcasts with him since before Lucasfilm was sold to Disney and I believe there’s a lot of potential. I really hope Ahsoka Season two gets weird with the force and mythological storytelling and people get a change to see him cook. There was a lot of setup in season 1 and catching the general audience up with Ahsoka and the Rebels crew. I hope we hit the ground running in season 2 to give the broader general fanbase a taste of Dave going wild with his creative vision. I really would like to eventually see his Thrawn / Heir to the empire take on the Mando Verse movie too. But hopefully he guides and supports movie directors and writers more directly moving forward.

as long as he can entertain ideas that aren't Mandoverse, Clone Wars, or OT related (as most Star Wars shows are), i'll be pleased

 

Yeah it’s a fair critique he hasn’t taken a crack at a brand new era of Star Wars, but instead enhanced or deepened other areas. If he is doing the guiding with new creatives so it doesn’t go off the rails and keeps the ethos I’d love it. I would love a loose adaptation of Knights of the Old Republic, or them taking a crack at the High Republic. I read every Ya and adult novel in the HR and it was probably my favorite Disney era story. Truly wild stuff. If they adapted it to a show like game of thrones with many narrative parts happening at the same time but trimmed some of the excess it could be wild.

I have high hopes for the Simon Kinberg project. He was deeply involved in rebels and in the Kathleen Kennedy exit interview she said Dave and the other co president are the most excited about his story. Seems like he likely had a hand in bringing Simon Kinberg in to write scripts, and they have a long history together. If they did a post 9 trilogy that cleaned up what happened in the sequels and had a clear narrative direction I’d love to see it.

 

i'd love some on-screen High Republic representation. idk if it'll happen or be easy enough for casual viewers to follow, but it'd be cool.

still slightly skeptical about the Kinberg trilogy, but definitely not opposed. just glad they're at least pushing forward in the timeline more.
